"The only reason it wasnt 5''s across the board is because the first room we were assigned had a bit of an odour. I brought this to the attention of the front desk and they assigned us another room right away and were beyond helpful. This was due to the previous guest not the hotel or cleaning staffs fault the cleanliness was excellent as was the breakfast and ammenities. We would 💯 recommend this hotel."

"We came up bc we were running in the Superior HT races. We have stayed here before and been happily surprised by the quality for the price. This time it felt like the quality has declined- mainly it needs a good refreshing as well as maintenance. The carpet was worn down in the hallways, there was a hole in the chairs in our room. The sink in our room leaked and was difficult to turn on and off, one of the lightbulbs didn’t work in our room. The person at the front desk office mentioned that there was no housekeeping for the weekend. Initially, we were given a room on the bottom floor. It was clean, but smelled musty, and we requested a different room which they gave us on the third floor. Much better! The sheets and linens were clean, it just looked rough. We also thought it was interesting that the woman at the front desk said they did not know about the superior hiking trail race, even though it was mentioned on there things happening this weekend bulletin board. We love the location of this hotel because we can walk to everything in Grand Marie, but I think I would look at other options. Next time we are up there."
