"We were hoping to have a relaxing girls' weekend, but it wasn't in the cards at this hotel. The room was lovely. The beds were comfy. The balcony, that we paid extra to have, was dirty with pollen so we could not really use it. I am familiar with pollen this time of the year, but it should have been cleaned for guests to use. In addition to the pollen covered furniture, there were also cobwebs on the chairs. I was really disappointed, because the weather was perfect for it! It didn't even face "historic Darien" as the description said. It was just the parking lot.
The room was pretty warm and the a/c didn't seem to work. We ended up sleeping with the balcony door open since it was much cooler outside. That wasn't great because a wedding party was having a good time making noise outside till late in the night. In addition to that noise, our room was located by a housekeeping room and they kept letting the door shut loudly as they were in and out of it in the morning hours.
On day two, we had to request a remote for the TV since we didn't have one in the room. The young man at reception brought it up very fast.
On the plus side, the bathroom was spacious and the mirror was divine! The shower was huge with 2 showerheads, and the water warmed up super fast.
The staff we encountered were all really nice. The food in the restaurant was delicious, but we did not receive our $25 food credit that was listed on Hotels.com site. Would we stay there again? Probably not.

"Breakfast menu was fresh. Waffles, eggs, sausages, toast, cereal, yoghurt, coffee . Parking was well lit and safe. Staff were friendly. Rooms were clean. Bathrooms need updating."
"From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with genuine warmth and care. JoAnn and Davie went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, offering thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home. Our room was spotless, tastefully decorated, and filled with cozy details — from crisp linens to a breathtaking view of the Marsh.
Breakfast each morning was a delight, featuring fresh, homemade dishes. The atmosphere throughout the inn was peaceful and charming, offering the perfect mix of charm and modern convenience.
Whether you're visiting for a weekend getaway or a longer retreat, Darien Waterfront Inn is the kind of place that makes you want to return again and again. Highly recommended!"
"This was the most disgusting hotel room I've ever encountered, the floor was sticky, the bedding smell. I couldn't even sleep in it, she seemed to be malfunctioning. It was either too hot or too cold, it was shampoo soap, and "boywash" in the shower that was hopefully mislabeled. It was incredibly noisy, and there were bugs crawling around in the room. I could go on my own, but I think you get the picture."
