The Union Club Hotel at Purdue University, Autograph Collection
10/10 Excellent
"My wife and I are proud Purdue alumni, and we returned to campus to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. Since we first met at Purdue, it felt only right to go back to where it all began. This was our first time staying at the Union Club Hotel.
From the start, the valets were welcoming and accommodating, and the renovations impressed us. The hotel still has that iconic Purdue spirit—Boiler Up!—but now with all the modern amenities. Our room’s layout was especially clever, featuring a pivoting TV and dual-access closet space.
What truly made our weekend, though, was the reception we received at the front desk. Jackie Lyons greeted us warmly with Purdue chocolates and a genuine interest in our stay. Just minutes after we got to our room, there was a knock on the door—it was Jackie again, this time with a bottle of champagne and glasses. Completely unexpected and so greatly appreciated. Throughout the weekend, he continued to greet us with cheerfulness and made us feel recognized and valued. He even anticipated our needs by offering a late check-out.
Jackie embodies true hospitality and a remarkable service spirit.
We had a wonderful time reminiscing, walking nine miles around campus on Saturday, and enjoying every moment of our return.
Thank you for a fantastic anniversary weekend—Boiler Up!"
"The reception staff was extremely welcoming, the hotel was very nice, and the room was spotless. My stay was truly pleasant, and I would be happy to stay at this property again."
