"I needed some time away from the outside world. Figuring this was a “residential” hotel, I wouldn't need to take much with me. The room was okay. Did not have a few amenities I would have liked to have such as some silverware (even plastic), dishes (a couple of paper plates would have been okay), cups (did have one coffee mug), etc. I forgot a brush so went to ask for a comb or brush and Manager said they did not have any.
Managers and staff were friendly and helpful.
Overall, it was a very relaxing experience."
"I wasn’t able to stay at the property for personal reasons. I called directly to make the cancellation and the person who answered the phone at the hotel told me that it was up to Expedia to refund my payment (I had prepaid the full 3 nights) I called expedia.com and they tried contacting the hotel and explaining I wasn’t able to stay at the hotel and that I needed my refund at least for the following 2 nights (just keep one night’s deposit as penalty not the full 3 nights) it was impossible. The experience was TERRIBLE. Don’t reserve this hotel through Expedia.com. It was outrageous to charge for the whole stay when I was formally calling to cancel the reservation. I tried ‘managing’ my account through Expedia.com and the page kept being redirected to nowhere! This is a TERRIBLE way to make your reservations if you have any issues with your stay, or even worse, if you have to cancel like I did. They keep all your money even if you call and explain ahead of time that you won’t be able to stay at the hotel. Truly terrible and unprofessional both at The Red Roof Inn Lafayette Indiana and at Expedia.com. Lastly, this property is the worse option in the whole area. It’s depressing and dirty. Shows no maintenance whatsoever."
