"If you come prepared - eat a meal beforehand if arriving late in the evening, have a little extra food with you as the restaurant closes early (7:30pm) and opens somewhat later in the morning (8am) - the place is exquisite if you want a place with character and charm. Very well maintained as a part of the Oregon State Parks system, it is known as the oldest continuing hotel in the state having opened in 1883. It's very quiet - on my stay at least, it's apparent that all guests understand the value of almost complete silence during the evening and early morning hours. You could hear a breeze outside if there is one, although I did not try to open a window on my stay. The meals are reasonably priced and seem to be large portions. I will visit again just for the quiet and historic charm."

"The staff is always very nice here! Super friendly. Breakfast was really a nice spread of hot and cold items and was very good! The cook even came out to see if we needed anything and see if everything tasted ok. We were given the option of what floor we wanted so we chose the 4th since it's the newly renovated floor. Our lights didn't work above the sink so made it difficult for 2 females to get ready w/o that lighted mirror. We did tell the staff but nobody came to fix it the entire weekend we were there. I like that there is a frig and microwave. The property is very safe. I usually like to stay here when I'm in town and will continue to do so."

"This is a little out of the way but 100% worth it. The rooms and grounds are beautiful and peaceful. They had charging available for our electric vehicle. So many nice special touches, like a glass of wine sitting outside from a local winery, local chocolates in our room, hearty breakfast in the morning. If you want to feel spoiled at a reasonable price, stay here!"
