"The resort was absolutely fantastic! Small and intimate, very clean and well maintained. The food was fantastic and we never felt crowded. Our bungalow #1 was right on the beach- walk out your front door and you are on the sand.
The front desk helped us book a massage right on the beach in front of our bungalow and it was amazing.
A few gentlemen were outside every morning taking the beach and straightening up the chairs for our enjoyment. This was a very well kept beach compared to resorts surrounding us.
The bar and restaurant staff would deliver food and drinks right to our bungalow without asking- my husband and I would put the kids to sleep at night and enjoy drinks on our front porch watching the waves.
Could not have asked for a better vacation! "
"The Maya Beach hotel was a great 3 night stay. The pool was clean and the dock was a great place to relax.
The staff and restaurant were excellent! Would stay here again. "
"Clean and nicely appointed room, cold a/c, beautiful and peaceful beachfront, friendly and helpful staff, very conveniently located in the heart of town. "
"The rooms were lovely with amazing beach access and views, beach bar and pool. Lovely beds and pillows, showers etc. Very tasteful and clean. The real stand out is the staff. Teresa at the front desk made our stay absolutely magical. She went above and beyond, even helping arrange a surprise proposal, many activities and romantic outings. Every staff member was just so accommodating, attentive and compassionate. Truly an amazing stay right in the heart of placencia village steps from many fun, colorful and delicious food and drink. "
"Mariposa Beach Resort is a little slice of heaven in Placencia. We booked a tree house for 4 nights at Mariposa Beach Resort not really doing a lot of research but WOW, I am so glad we booked here. Our stay was fantastic and far exceed my expectations! We arrived early the day of check in and were able to check in right away and were immediately given a welcome drink, which was a nice touch. We then were taken to our tree house in the garden area, which was very spacious, had a fantastic covered porch, with a table for two and a hammock that overlooked their beautiful garden area, which well maintained and was very peaceful. The bed in our tree house was made up with flowers and greens spelling ‘Welcome’. The pool area was perfect (and useful since the seaweed had already invaded the beach when we arrived) and the staff serving at the pool bar and restaurant were super friendly and attentive. Because there are not very many tree houses and rooms at the main pool building, it never feels busy or crowded anywhere on the property. There are bikes available for use to ride into town, which we did several times to go to dinner or hang out at the beach in town. I like the fact that the resort is not in the hustle and bustle or downtown but you can walk or ride bikes into town if you want to try a different restaurant or go to the shops or bars. This is one of best resort stays we have experienced in traveling in the Caribbean or Central America!

"This resort was amazing from the staff, who accommodated me and my wife very well, the room, the views, the food. There were plenty to do from swimming in the pool or the beach, which was literally a step off my balcony, to snorkeling, fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking, and pickleball etc. The resort is on its own lisland however they have boards to get from the island to the village on demand. This resortbis luxury and relaxation at its finest. I booked the spacious king and I'm telling you it's beautiful and luxurious and you will not be disappointed.
Just a few things to be aware of is room service was not 24/7 with a cutoff time of between 9-10pm. The food menu was a bit limited in my opinion however staff will try to accommodate your requests as much as possible. Also, there's a service charge at the end of stay which is gratuity for staff which I payed around $182USD for a 5-6 day stay.
I will definitely stay at this resort again. "
