Palacio Solecio, a Small Luxury Hotel of the World

"Tuvimos una muy buena estancia en el Palacio Solecio. El hotel es precioso, está muy bien ubicado y, sobre todo, queremos destacar la amabilidad y excelente atención de todo el personal. Siempre fueron muy agradables y atentos. El desayuno también nos gustó mucho, tanto por la calidad como por el ambiente. El único inconveniente importante fue el tema del aparcamiento. Cuando realizamos nuestra reserva, entendimos por la información disponible que el hotel contaba con aparcamiento y servicio de valet parking por un cargo adicional. Sin embargo, solo unas horas antes de nuestra llegada nos informaron de que las plazas estaban completamente ocupadas y finalmente no pudimos utilizar el servicio de valet parking. Tuvimos que dejar el coche en un aparcamiento público situado aproximadamente a dos cuadras del hotel y pagar el estacionamiento durante las 24 horas, con un coste de más de 30 € al día. No fue la experiencia que esperábamos basándonos en la información que habíamos recibido al reservar, especialmente tratándose de un hotel de esta categoría. Fuera de este inconveniente, nuestra experiencia fue muy positiva. El personal fue encantador, el servicio muy agradable y disfrutamos mucho de nuestra estancia. Sin duda, mejorar la información y la coordinación del aparcamiento haría que la experiencia fuese aún mejor. We had a very enjoyable stay at Palacio Solecio. "We needed a hotel close to the airport and this was a great option. About a 20-30 minute drive to the airport. Direct beachfront, great views from most rooms. Parking is not on site, but a few blocks away on flat roads. Ask the hotel for help with arranging parking. We didn't think to do that and ended up paying more. All staff were very friendly and helpful in speaking English with us since our Spanish isn't very good."

"I stayed overnight before taking the train the following day. This was an excellent location for the train station. About a 5 min walk. The room was very small and the bed was a little creaky but it was perfect for what I needed. Everything in the room was well maintained and the room was well equipped- except no refrigerator which I always prefer to have in a hotel room. The breakfast was excellent. I would definitely stay there again if I was coming back and traveling via train."

"Fantastic location on the edge of the city center with a super helpful staff. However, driving your own car proved quite challenging due to road restrictions in the historic area if you’re not familiar with it. Would recommend contacting in advance for specific driving/arrival directions. Air conditioning in the room was amazingly cold and way better than even “luxury hotels” in Andalucia that limit your ability to lower the temp. Had an early flight and could not enjoy the breakfast."

"The property has some lovely features, including comfortable rooms, beautiful mountain views, a well-equipped kitchen and a swing that was a great addition for the children. However, the photos in the listing were unclear and confusing. Different rooms appeared to be shown across what looked like different villas, making it difficult to know exactly which rooms and layout belonged to the property we had booked. The accommodation was therefore not as clear from the listing as we would have expected. There were also several maintenance issues during our stay. In the first room on the right as you come down to the ground floor, we noticed small pools of water just inside the entrance to the room. We were unable to establish where the water was coming from, and it did not appear to be connected to using the shower or en-suite. This is something that should be investigated. There were broken tiles/edges in the pool, and we also found a lot of ants in the first-floor bathroom. The foosball table was slightly broken, with some parts not working properly. Our arrival was disappointing, as we did not receive the access code by the 4pm check-in time and had to call to chase it up. We were then told that the property was still being cleaned and was not ready. During our stay, I called to ask about the pool filter and was told that they decide when to turn it on. Unfortunately, the gentleman I spoke to was very rude and ended the call before the issue was properly addressed."

"I had a nice 3 night stay here in a private bedroom (room 1) with a cute little balcony. My room was clean & had plenty of space to put my belongings away & keep things organized. I utilized the kitchen (stove, fridge & freezer). They keep it well stocked with dishes & cooking supplies. The staff helped me with transportation (there's a bus stop about a minute away that is very helpful, especially when there are no Uber or Bolt drivers to be found). I also rented a bike one day & explored the city & along the coast, which was a nice bonus. There are a bunch of cute restaurants & bars right in the area & it feels safe to walk around solo at night. I would recommend this place to stay."
