"We had an excellent time at the Mikado. It was our first time to Costa Rica and it was probably one of our best holidays. Such a fun adventure. Lolo was an excellent host and if you do stay you must take advantage of her dinners. Incredibly romantic. The location is perfect. Quick drives to Tamarindo, Playa Avellanas and Playa Conchal. Great places to explore and then return to the peace and tranquility of the lodge. Absolutely perfect. "

"Our stay was comfortable and the staff were very friendly. I will note that the pictures depict a lavish boutique resort, however, it was more run down and could use some updating. The grounds were beautiful but the pool was often dirty and needs to be repaired. The food was excellent but very expensive. We stayed in a bungalow that was very small but comfortable for 2 adults and one child. Overall it was a nice stay. "

"The kitchen was poorly stocked, I.e., no decent knife, only three sets of cutlery, we booked for five guests. No toaster, we had to ask manager to chase up a cooking pot and some extra cups. No hot water in the shower "
