Drury Plaza Hotel Cape Girardeau Conference Center
10/10 Excellent
"This was one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at, except for one thing. More on that in a minute. Pros: great indoor pool, plenty of room and warm water, plus a hot tub.
Free breakfast. Usual offerings plus hot food bar. Menu changes daily and open until 9:30 / 10:00 so you can sleep in and still get hot food.
Happy hour snacks and drinks. Again, hot food bar, menu different everyday, up to 3 free drinks per person per night (recommend the margaritas and cherry vodka sour!!).
Great bed with lots of room, warm blankets, fluffy pillows, and crisp white sheets. Temp controlled room that actually stays at the temp you set it. Living room hide-a-bed is actually comfortable. All of the staff were friendly, and went out of their way to make you feel welcome. Parking is easy and abundant. Close to everything the Cape has to offer. Quiet. Reasonably priced for the quality that you are getting.
Now for the single Con: the bathroom light is automatic. Great idea. Terrible execution. It comes on full blast in the middle of the night when you get up to use the restroom. Blinded at 3 am is not fun. Light actually turned OFF while I was taking a shower. Also, not fun.
That's it, an excellent hotel that I will definitely recommend but take a nightlight and an eye mask."

"Hotel was pretty decent. Everything was clean and comfy. Only complaint I would make is that the walls are not very soundproof. The people in the room next to us had loud music and raised voices most of our first night. You couldn't understand what they were saying, but they were very loud. Otherwise, great stay."
"Clean linens, bathroom clean but the whole place smelled like a CBD dispensary which gave me a terrible headache. Carpets were very old and stained some places were torn. Would never stay here again. I didn’t bother trying the breakfast."
"Our entire stay was PERFECT! The clerk at check-in was phenomenal, (sorry forgot his name) he gave us all the information we didn't even know we needed. We were visiting for a memorial service and my grandsons came with us, he showed them where to get complimentary popcorn, sodas/drinks and breakfast. The rooms were topnotch, and the restroom was HUGE compared to other "accessible" restrooms I've been in. Overall I am glad we stayed, the only downside, my boys love swimming, I wished this location had a pool. I would definitely recommend and stay again."
"Dirty tub, nasty chair in room, half busted door lock, busted fridge, & gross feeling dirty carpet. The only things clean were bed & microwave. There was something spilled & not cleaned in the bathtub, as well as a long hair stuck in the tub. The chair was stained & felt like it was saturated w/built up grime as it was sticky to the touch. We didn't feel comfortable putting our bags in it. The walls had stuff or dirt on them, & looked unfinished, even had cracks & missing sheet rock, & grime. Check in/out staff friendly; property NASTY.
**If I thought I could find another place to stay, we definitely would have not stayed. But we were in a rush to get home due to unexpected family emergency that happened while we were 1,000 miles away at a family event. I'd been up several hours & had driven 9 hours to get here & it was after 1:15 AM when we finally got here. I honestly didn't feel that I could safely drive any further. By 7:30 we were up & leaving, just stayed long enough to sleep to be able to drive the remaining 9 hours or so to get home. ***I've never stayed in such a NASTY place before and ONLY stayed as I didn't feel I could safely drive anywhere else or find another place at 1:30 AM. I know I'll never intentionally stay here again. I can understand renovations taking place and causing a little mess for a property to deal with, but this nastiness was just due to not cleaning the property. I can't overlook lazy unclean, that's just nasty. DON'T STAY HERE."
