"Wow!! What can I say? What a beautiful charming B&B. I have to admit, I was curious/concerned about such an old facility but given the recent renovation/remodel, job well done. Everything has been updated, (fixtures, windows, etc). The owner is extremely welcoming and accomodating. Not a day goes by, now that we're home, that we miss waking up at Le Clocher de la Duchesse. "Lovely staff at an excellent property. The cleanliness of the room and kitchen area, hotel areas and breakfast area was impeccable. The breakfast was delicious offering cereals, omlettes, sausage, self boil eggs, fruit, yoghurt, cheese, ham, nuts and various breads and pastries. Coffee was from a machine but one of the best expresso I have had."

"The location is fantastic, just a short walk to the palace. The staff were wonderful and the room was great. Our only concern was with half board. We paid well in advance. When we showed up we were told we needed a voucher for the meals. That was fine but we didn't receive one when we actually checked in. So the first meal we went for, we noticed the person at the front asking for our room number and filling out a bill. When we mentioned we had half board he rechecked and said there was nothing at his end, we needed to ask at the front desk. So we went to the desk where the girl checked. She said there was the proper code for our half board so she gave us a voucher. Next day we had the same problem. We were only there for two days and in those two days we had to push to get the meals. The choice of meals for half board was good and the meals themselves were delicious. Staff at the restaurant were also excellent. Other than the problem with the half board, the stay was great."

"The hotel is immaculate, the restaurant and bar cafe food wonderful, the majority of staff extremely helpful and accommodating and the ambiance of the place is extremely calm and restful. They do need to look at the frustrating pool/spa area … you only get free access with a delux room or above ( they did upgrade me for free at checkin due to my Expedia membership but didn’t tell me, so i thought i had to pay the substantial fee for a while) and you have to book a slot for only 1hr 30mins…then pay for further hours. The car park is quite a walk and needs signs to walk to the buildings, they do have a gof cart service & friendly driver called Adam who gave us tour of the ground’s & history of the place …reception didn’t tell us about this though, so it took a while until we spotted him. If breakfast isn’t included it is expensive for what it is. The other meals were fantastic though. There is no tv area in the hotel though and this would have been helpful for me as my husband worked in our room for a few hours so not being able to watch Roland Garros or sit by the pool was frustrating. Overall a wonderful break …great venue to be outside of Paris but easily accessible and fantastic to visit Versailles"
