The front desk booked us in at Selvantura for ziplining and hanging bridges. Also booked us in for both a night tour and coffee tour with a small group operators. They knew us by name. Great staff! "We loved our stay at Macadamia! The unit is self-contained and well-equipped with everything that you might need - even salt and oil if you want to cook and laundry detergent for the washing. There is a fantastic soda just 5 mins walk away. The air conditioning was fantastic in one room and not so good in the other, but it gets cool at night and you can open the windows. We even saw an armadillo next to the driveway! Guillermo is super helpful, and this is a wonderful place to stay. "

"A hidden gem in the mountainous hills of Monteverede just outside the central town - about a 8 to 10 minute drive from Santa Elena proper! Perfect for families with kids who love farms and animals and the natural sounds of rural remote life. The rooms are gorgeous and spotless and roomy! The shower was fantastic! Fast hot water with amazing water pressure. Brand new build. The windows facing the east are thoughtfully tinted to ease the bright morning sun. Even though there is no AC unit in the room, the fan that came with the room helped keep us cool. At night it's breezy and cool and only at midday did it get a little stuffy. The staff is so kind and amazing and helpful. They helped secure us transportation from Monteverede to Playa Hermosa. Their restaurant on site was super tasty and the pancakes were such a highlight for the kids. The horses, donkeys, and sheep were so fun to pet. We walked to another restaurant down the road which was also great: Soda Canton 83 The Maze. They are building a pool as we speak! It looks like there is a lot of new construction happening near by which will make this Hotel even more sought after in the future! We will be back. Highly recommend."

"We loved Hotel Tropico! The individual cottages were cute and comfortable with amazing views. The on site restaurant was good and we were able to reserve breakfast, which was very convenient. Hotel Tropico is close to everything and all of the staff that we encountered were very friendly. I would recommend and would definitely stay again. "

"What a gem! from a warm welcome at check in to checkout Tityra lodge was a oasis in the mountains. We stayed as a family of four and and two bedrooms. The lodge was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included and although small there was plenty of choice. They even remembered my wife’s allergy which was mentioned at check in and highlighted unsuitable foods. We used the hot tub which was a lovely treat. The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed a walk around the boundary trail. It is a car drive from monteverde so would recommend if you have a car."
