Lovely host, who greeted us at the door, showed us where to park the car, and then showed us around the house. As we stayed here between high and low season, we even got to choose between rooms 1 and 4. The host showed us the pool (which we did not use due to stormy and chilly weather), and took our orders for breakfast, which was super tasty and wealthy (freshly prepared omelets, self-baked granola on yoghurt, cut fresh fruits and toast with butter and jam…fantastic!). We had a great night in a comfy bed, all clean and nicely decorated, in a calm neighbourhood 10minutes by foot/3min by car to the beach and beachfront restaurants. A great stay, highly recommended! Just give the host a call 10-15min prior to arrival, so you don‘t have to wait at the door :)

Manor 38 is located in Summerstrand Port Elizabeth. The Manor is beautiful, nicely decorated with spacious bedrooms and bathroom, private television, WiFi, etc. It also has two large sitting rooms, one with a large television and fireplace for all guests to use, plus a gorgeous swimming pool. The daily breakfast is preordered, with selections from fruit plate, cereal, toasts, eggs cooked many different ways, including omelettes. The staff, specially Christopher, deserve recognition for outstanding service. They were helpful with recommendations, tour reservations, and much more. Please note that Port Elizabeth has some issues with alcohol and drug addictions so important to be vigilant. But thumbs up to Manor 38 and a super staff!

A Wonderful Stay

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this lovely bed and breakfast,when we came to PE for Ironman 2025, and we can't recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, we was greeted with warmth and hospitality that made me feel at home. Christopher, the host, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect – nothing was too much trouble for him! Christopher crafts a delicious breakfast spread that caters to all tastes, making sure everyone starts the day off right. You must try his home made musilie! The room was incredibly spacious, allowing for plenty of room to unwind after Ironman. There is ample storage – ideal for unpacking and making it feel like our own space. The good shower was a highlight; its powerful spray felt amazing after a long day. The common areas were beautifully designed and very inviting, and the pool area was a delightful bonus, offering a tranquil spot to soak up the sun and relax. Overall, our experience at this B&B was fantastic, and I cannot thank Christopher enough for his outstanding hospitality. If you're looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay, this is definitely it! I can’t wait to return!

A great time in Port Elizabeth

The host was great, the board walk (and the board walk mall) and at a walking distance. The guest house had room for about 6 cars inside the fenced parking lot. Overall we enjoyed it.

Die Unterkunft ist schön, jedoch etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Es war alles sauber, aber die Möbel sind abgenutzt und die Einrichtung ist etwas altmodisch. Wir haben dort nur eine Nacht geschlafen, weil wir so spät gelandet sind und im Dunkeln nicht mehr weiterfahren wollten. Für eine Nacht war es vollkommen in Ordnung. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und der Besitzer super nett und sehr hilfsbereit. Wir würden das nächste Mal dennoch woanders hingehen.

Great stay at a great property

The house is very nice and clean. Christopher, the staff in charge, was very helpful during our stay and even offered us a room upgrade! They pay attention to details, gave us some nice chocolate and drinks every night, and even a Christmas cake on Christmas day. Breakfast was fantastic, very well cooked and seasoned. We really enjoyed it. The pool area was also really nice and relaxing.

The property was a short walk to the extensive boardwalk along the beach. The owner was awesome! When he noticed that our card had been charged twice, he ran over from having dinner with his wife to make sure that our card was properly credited. The room was nice and big, which was great so we could get our luggage re-situated before we flew home. The made-to-order breakfast was delicious!!

Great location in a nice neighbourhood with good views. The property itself was immaculate and amazingly decorated with all the usual conveniences. Christopher was an outstanding host and was always on hand to help out if I had a query. Overall an excellent experience, would highly recommend.

Manor 38 was beautiful, well looked after and in an excellent location. The team were so friendly and accommodating. Little touches in the room during turn down service set this place apart from big brand hotels
