Sandman Signature Dartmouth Hotel & Suites

"Expedia cancelled our reservations with the hotel rather than changing it from 3 nights to 2 nights. When we went to check in reception said we did not have any reservations even though Expedia receipt showed that we prepaid for 2 nights. When I showed Darren our Expedia confirmation, he indicated that they did not have any more King bed rooms. Fortunately, Darren upgraded us to 2 Queen beds with a kitchenette without additional charge as he could see it was not our error. Other than the check in, the stay was fine except for the 1 out of the 3 elevators that was working. During check out we had to wait over 5 minutes for the elevator to get to our 6th floor since everyone was getting into the same elevator. Also, I would suggest when there is only 1 elevator operating, the cleaning staff let the guests take priority going up and down the elevator as opposed to bringing their supply carts with them thereby not being able to fit anyone else on the elevator."

"We had a great stay at the Holiday Inn Express. We selected it as easy access to the airport and downtown Halifax without being right downtown. If you want to get out and walk to things it is not ideal. We ubered to the ferry - a quick trip. The room and facilities were spotless, the staff friendly and the breakfast was good and plentiful. If you have kids with you it would be perfect too."

"A great affordable alternative to staying in downtown Halifax. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and spacious. The pool was well maintained, a good size and a comfortable temperature. The breakfast was outstanding, with so many well prepared food choices. Internet worked well and there was plenty of free parking in the lot. Would definitely recommend!"
