"Yr Hen Farcdy is wonderful accommodation in a beautiful setting, close to Snowdonia and all the special areas of north Wales. The rooms are comfortable, attractive and private, and the hosts Mike and Sue could not be more hepful. The breakfasts are delicious with a great range of options. We loved our 6 nights there and highly recommend it as a base fir exploring the region, or a spot for just chilling out."
"Staff were excellent and made such a fuss of my mum on her birthday .
The only ( and this is not huge) strange thing was that the bar closed at 9.30pm which was rather odd, but this did not deter from a fabulous stay , we will be back "
"Unfortunately whilst the rest of the country was at the start of a heat wave this area was under cloud & rain for most of our 4 day stay!! The location is great for the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways being about 5mins away and for the centre of Porthmadoc.
The layout of the property is a bit strange. The top-floor consists of two bathrooms (one of them ensuite) and the main bedroom. On the floor below is the other bedroom, plus kitchen/lounge area + a a balcony with a nice view of the...
"A really impressive little place that was perfect for our family of three. The quality of the accommodation was excellent, as were the location and the view. Plus there's lots to see and do in the local area. We'd happily go back"
"Poor mattresses, one single power point in twin bedroom , sleeps 4 but only 3 drinking mugs & 3 forks, no kitchen knives, no outdoor furniture even though a notice told you to store it, no where to hang wet towels etc, light switch in double bedroom behind door, loose shower bracket, difficult shower controls, advertised patio is inaccurate, it is merely the shared walkway for the estate.
The location is wonderful.
Overall not worth the price.

"Truly excellent accomodation in Minffordd. Wonderful views of the estuary. Fully firnished with good quality furniture and plenty of crockery. Owner was a delight to meet."
"Excellent base for exploring the Llyn Peninsula and Eryri National Park, plus it’s right on the Welsh coastal park so can walk into Porthmadog. Free road parking just outside the property - loved walking our dog on the beach across the road and watching all the birds in the evening, including an osprey fishing in the estuary. The flat was clean, comfortable, larger than expected and provided everything needed for a comfortable stay. It is a ground floor flat so you do get some noise from the flat above but this didn’t bother us or impact our enjoyment of the property. Will definitely be returning. "

"To stay in a tourist attraction is an amazing experience as you get to see the stunning architecture in the early morning and late evening when the light is at its best. "
