"Booked this hotel through Expedia prior to my trip, when I landed in Colombo I received a text message from a French (+33) number saying that my booking at The Coconut would be cancelled, and that the prices I had booked were no longer valid! A local has told us that the Indian company that owns the hotel has not paid the local staff wages and they have been forced to leave.
