"The hotel is gorgeous. Very elegant. Felt like living in a palace. The staff were satisfactory but not very personable. It felt like the staff were aware of the luxurious nature of the hotel and acted removed. Maybe there is no way around it. We felt more personally taken care of in smaller boutique hotels. The breakfast was nice and rich. The communal areas of the hotel were very pretty and elegant. There is definitely a trade off in this hotel between the luxury and person-ability of the experience."

"I will start by saying we arrived at night, which may have impacted our opinion of the property. The property is an old castle and it presents as one, specifically at night. Lots of unused space, makes part of the property feel empty. We had some confusion around dining, and the availability of dinner service, making it a bit confusing. We were told yes to dinner service, and no by the staff at the restaurantโ€ฆ and ultimately had to have the front desk call to rectify the situation. In the morning, the light changed the mood. The staff were friendly and kind! Overall, it was my first time staying in an older castle, and now have a better idea of expectations. Neat experience!"
