Ideal boutique experience - relaxing and friendly

The ideal boutique hotel stay - characterful, clean, comfortable, with a genuine, warm welcome. A cosy place, with nice common areas to relax in (and with books on the area), good rooms and nice linens, and a really good breakfast spread. Delightful, considerable and unobtrusive staff. Great location, with parking.

Fabulous place to stay before sailing or as base

We loved this hotel, which is in wonderful old building but has been beautifully & tastefully modernised. Very close to the seafront and lots of restaurants. Very helpful, friendly staff. Great breakfast.

This is an unusual hotel, small, personal and caring. It’s located ideally just a minutes walk from the waterside and a couple of minutes from many excellent restaurants. The owners are charming and the hotel wonderfully cooled with the option of taking breakfast in a little courtyard if you can take the heat! Breakfast is minimal but enough really.

The building was lovely, great atmosphere and very clean. The staff were welcoming and always happy to help. Over all I would recommend The Captains House as a relaxing place to stay in Preveza however there were a couple of little negatives, the shower water was warm not hot, we did not mind as the weather was warm if we visited at a cooler time of year I would be disappointed and the breakfast was underwhelming.

Room a little tired.

Booked one night for my husbands birthday so we didn’t have to worry about driving. Receptionist took us to our room and left the key for us then left with no other information about breakfast or the front door key. There were 2 other people covering reception during the afternoon and evening, nobody spoke a word to us and barely looked up from the computer. Hospitality needs some work 2/10 from us. I upgraded to the Junior Suite but it was nothing special. The photo has a sofa area showing but there wasn’t one. The only mirror was nowhere near a plug point and couldn’t be moved as it was fixed. The dressing table and chair where the plugs were had no mirror just a TV so it was inconvenient to get ready for the evening. The rug was frayed and had seen better days. No tea or coffee facilities provided. The shower cubicle had a wooden window on the outer wall which was obviously getting wet every day so was rotten. The shower head holder was 7ft high and was fixed so I had to hold it while I showered. The cubicle leaked all over the bathroom floor as there was only a glass door to try and stop the water coming out. A few changes and the room could be improved to a better standard. The bed was comfortable and the linen crisp and clean. The rest of the hotel and the location were lovely.

Επισκέφθηκα την πόλη και διανυκτέρευσα στο ξενοδοχείο. Όμορφο και ξεχωριστό, αφού είναι βασισμένο σε κάποιο παλιό αρχοντικό! Το δωμάτιο ήταν πολύ καθαρό και ήσυχο. Το ξενοδοχείο είναι πολύ κοντά στην παραλία. Γενικά, έχω πολύ θετικές εντυπώσεις!. Το προτείνω για διανυκτερευση ή διαμονή περισσότερο.

Lovely hotel - close to the quay

Lovely clean room - only small remarks in that: 1. Our double was just pushing the twin beds together - no double bedding or means to keep beds together. 2. Bathroom door would not shut properly Lovely reception and ante room to relax in. Breakfast was continental, but had plenty of variety, was delicious & certainly filled us up. No Breakfast tea bags though (not sure if ran out) - but this is the continental way, so take some of your own to be sure you have the cuppa you like. Would certainly use this hotel again - Lovely!

Charmant malgré quelques problèmes

Bien situé, personnel très sympathique et joli bâtiment ancien. Les chambres sont petites et les douches , portes et autres items se finition sont le mauvais côté de cet hôtel. Tres central alors ce côté positif vient avec le fait qu’il y a un bar à côté qu’on entend une grande partie de la nuit ... tout comme le stationnement qui devient inaccessible pratiquement une fois la foule chaque soir.

Perfect!!!!

We arrived for one night and liked it so much we stayed another night. Breakfast was great the hotel we loved everything about it.Very comfortable bed. I would say it is the most welcoming hotel we have been too from decor to the most wonderful manager Kristaliq. We were greeted with a warm friendly smile and from the moment you walk in the door you feel relaxed in this beautiful old house. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
