"This is an older motel, so don't expect a 4-star hotel. I've stayed there twice on the last two years, and both times I have had excellent experiences. The building is probably from the 1950-1960 era, and it does show. However, the rooms themselves have everything you would need. Everything is very clean. There are no odd smells, the rooms smell fresh. Everything was very hygienic and there were no signs of any problems. There has never been any problems with noise at night, any more than you would expect at any hotel. The motel is run by what I presume is a family. They are very friendly and would always ask when they saw you if you needed anything and how your stay was. The motel format is very convenient since you park right in front of your room. I prefer it to many budget hotels where you have to lug everything to your room. The cost is very reasonable and there are no hidden or surprise charges. They will want a credit card on file for incidentals, but I have never been charged anything. If I go back to Claremont next year, I will definitely stay here again. As long as your expectations for a motel at a budget price is reasonable, you will enjoy your stay."

"We found our check-in to be accomodating especially since I have mobility issues. Our room was to be on the second floor and we were provided with a first floor upgrade at a nominal fee. It was quiet with a comfortable bed . We did find that our operation of the television was quite difficult. We feel there should have been more explanation on its control. There needs to be a more stringent final check of room readiness for the next visitor. We found the trash container in the kitchen to be half full upon our arrival. The kurig coffee maker had an empty coffee pod left in the machine after its last use by the previous traveller. This was a turnoff for us."

"We had a fantastic time at the Mountain Inn. I was there for a 100 mile race and the staff went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed to be successful. They even went to the trouble to make me my own breakfast to go! We will absolutely be back to see JP and Bodie!"

"This is a spectacular property. See other reviews for details. I would warn other that the check in tech was not able to find my reservation. Help button at the unmanned desk did not summon anyone. I had to find the confirmation email and call the number. I was then given the wrong room number by that person. I think the link between Expedia and the property is weak, and the timing of the texts the property sends was late to me."
