Holiday Inn Express Le Claire Riverfront-Davenport by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"I am a fan of this hotel, because of how clea. It was, the friendliness of staff, and the comfortable room. I appreciated amenities like dove hand wash, body wash, lotion, and hair products. The bed was really comfortable. The room was spacious, and easy to relax in after traveling all day. They were helpful in finding me a dog friendly room also. I felt safe at this hotel and will return if I’m in the area."

"The front desk staff answered all my questions and were helpful. The room I stayed in was quiet and clean. It had a no frills vibe. I did like the hand soap they provided. My hands felt soft and clean after using it. Outside the hotel in front it looked like work was being done on other businesses. The outside had a sketchy vibe, but
I didn’t experience any issues."
"Room smelled like cigarettes and mold. Was offered a "nice room" when I told them I was unhappy which was just the exact same room, but a different unit. They told me that they have a no refund policy, but I genuinely just wanted to stay anywhere else so I guess I'm out $70."
"Our experience at this hotel, under Ron’s ownership, was a mess. Upon check-in, I specifically confirmed multiple times with the staff that my small dog was allowed. I was told the pet fee was included—no issues. Fast forward one day, suddenly I’m told dogs aren’t allowed, and I was slapped with a $300 cleaning fee. After arguing, that magically dropped to $90—$30 a night—even though my dog was only there one night. Why am I being charged for extra nights? It felt like a random shake-down.
To top it off, when we called for something as simple as toilet paper, the front desk said they didn’t know where housekeeping was. No walkie-talkies? No communication? Finally, the elevator license was visibly expired—definitely not a confidence booster. It felt like a poorly managed operation all around.
And to top it off the elevator certificate was expired"
"Booked thru Expedia at right under $200/2 nights. Check-in-went very smooth. The first room was dirty & this type of neglect is on purpose; to allow anyone but a cleaner to enter it, was offensive. There were spiders in the bathtub, questionable stains on pillow cases, walls, and curtains, dirt/dust gathered throughout. The beds were very much soiled, can’t remember if they had mattress covers. Very nice bedside lights, with addtl light for night reading (good idea), if you could muster the guts to sleep in the room. The FD staff did switch our room and apologized. The 2nd room was better; however, curtains were tattered and not hanging properly, window didn’t lock (ground floor), water pressure seemed low but could be that a new shower head is needed? The floor in the bathroom was also very dirt, beyond needing hot water/soap/bleach. I covered it with towels. They have these long mirrors that would be nice if they were cleaned properly. The beds were actually comfortable. The air/heat did work. TV, microwave, and fridge worked but freezer needs to be defrosted, so wasn’t able to use it. The breakfast was fair: waffles, bagels, muffins, sausage gravy and biscuits, sausages, potatoes (not all on same day but was hot and had flavor when served), coffee, juices. My late check-out request was extended 30 addtl minutes without issues/charge. Would I stay again? No, ONLY bc rooms are dirty, staff seemed professional/pleasant, bed comfortable, food fair, parking lot acceptable"
"The place was really nice, UNTIL the morning we were checking out. One of the Staff POUNDED on the door so hard is scared the $#@$%$ out of us. There was absolutely NO REASON for a Staff Member to pound on the door at 9am when checkout is at 11am. Will never stay here again"
