"I recently stayed at Xcaret in Riviera Maya and would rate the experience 3 out of 5 stars. The staff was generally friendly and helpful throughout the stay, with one exception—checkout. Unfortunately, the gentleman assisting us didn’t say a word or ask how our stay was, which felt like a missed opportunity to leave a positive final impression. The rooms were pretty average, but to be fair, we didn’t spend much time in them beyond resting and sleeping. The real highlight of the trip was the activities. There was plenty to do—cenotes, kayaking, snorkeling, and even seeing exotic animals. Those experiences made the trip memorable. Food, however, was a bit disappointing. Most of it was very average, and to make matters worse, several restaurants require reservations that we were told need to be made up to six months in advance. We were able to get into Xin Gao due to a cancellation, but unfortunately, the meal didn’t live up to expectations. My pork filet was tough and dry, and the rest of my family’s meals were just okay. One thing to note—the resort is massive. Bring comfortable walking shoes! That said, I actually enjoyed walking around and exploring the property, so that was a plus. Overall, we did have a good time thanks to the activities and atmosphere, but there are definitely areas—especially food and reservation access—that could be improved. Give all guests at least 1 reservation everyone deserves that at minimum. "

"Let’s start with the good - staff is generally very helpful and friendly. Special shout out to Wendy in the Spa. Our couples massage was good. Be prepared for the wildlife - monkeys, iguanas, deer, capybara, parrots, and coati. The rooms were average. Room service came daily, however, you must ask for face towels and you are lucky if you receive them. We have a few plumbing issues in our room that were resolved pretty quickly. I did have to remind the staff cleaning up after the toilet overflow to please use cleaning solution on the floor in the bathroom. That was a bit concerning, but ultimately it got done. The best times were actually off of the resort at the Xplor park and my favorite was taking a ferry ride to Cozumel. They do offer nightly shows, which I did not have an opportunity to enjoy - my days were long and the weather was warm so I spent most days by the pool or after the lagoon. The most disappointing thing about the resort was the food. We were unable to book a restaurant for several days and were stuck eating the buffet food, which was mediocre at best. The breakfast buffet was better, but generally, the food is below average. I went completely without food on one night because the food we ordered at the Mexican restaurant and waited two hours for was served cold. For our trouble, we received free room service, which we used the following night and was also cold. It tasted like it had been in the refrigerator. Despite the good service, I would not stay again."

"Great stay, but would not recommend “platinum.” It is not worth the extra money. I have been to other properties where paying the extra gets you much more. "

"This resort does NOT welcome expedia customers! This resort classifies expedia members by providing a bright yellow bracelets to expedia members! Once emplyees sees the bright yellow bracelets they ignored us and give priority to their members! They also give expedia members ripped dirty beach towels, corner rooms with stained floors , mold in the showers, no drawers in bedroom, as they give priority to members when it comes to restaurant reservations, expedia members dont get the chance to eat at their various restaurants because they are always booked according to the resort. The resort is high on requesting tips for everything.if ypu dont tip dont expect to get drinks on time, angel at the pool bar refused to add chili powder to one of my drinks but to members of the resort it was okay ! I do not recommended this hotel to anyone safe your money for a better more welcoming resort who really care about their customers as a whole including expedia members ! Avoid feeling like an outcast from the treatment from Employees starting with people at the reception!! "

"I was very disappointed with not having Secruity on path ways . Every night between 11pm and 4am in morning there was someone intoxicated scream , fighting. I have no problem with individuals having a a good time that was too much. You go on Vacation to relax but it's hard to do when individuals are waking you up. The food was great and staff was wonderful but didn't make up for the persons that were intoxicated between 11pm and 4am"
