The grounds, pools and beach were great. They really lack in the food and service areas, most of the staff did not seem to want to be there. Restaurant menus were super limited and we didn’t get to eat at any of the “good” restaurants due to unavailability. Not sure I will be returning to the DR, it was disappointing. So many other places to go with superior hospitality.

I love to travel! This was my 6th time to Punta Cana, 1st time staying at the Catalonia. Me and my man stayed in the Suite on the Adults side. We had a great view from our balcony, the room was clean, hot water was amazing in the shower, housekeeping serviced our room everyday. The food was pretty good, so many options to choose from, we loved the drinks— so strong, dont be afraid to ask for more especially if you tipping lol. There was more positives than negatives, but still some negatives worth pointing out…Some of the things I disliked were the mutiple cats that come out when you eat outside at night, the pool area in the adult side is super quiet (needs a DJ), But we had access to the other part of the Catalonia which had a nightclub so we were ok with that. We avoided the beach, the beach had soooo much seaweed it was nasty and smelly. That was our biggest con as we really wanted to be in the ocean. Go ahead and book, hopefully they have their beaches clean when you come

Carolina Royal Bavaro was a really nice resort! The adult side wasn’t too crowded. Staff friendly. Room clean. Food pretty good. Beach nice. This was my fourth Punta Cana resort and I rate it a solid 4 stars. I totally endorse this resort. Couple things that could make it better would be remodeled bathrooms and better food.

The resort itself is very nice! Quiet, nice pools, friendly staff. The room itself is a bit outdated, no charging ports by the bed, only 2 in the entire room. No lighting in the room. The food was very average, buffet was good & a couple of the night restaurants were good. Food trucks were not good. The beach is small and water is full of seaweed, no waves. Plenty of seating by the pool and beach though. Drinks were okay not very strong. Overall we had a relaxing stay but i’m not sure I would stay here again.

Royal Bavaro is an awesome getaway for couples. However, don’t expect 5 star food. Out of all the options, the only “good” restaurant was Sorrento. Weather is beautiful, pools/beaches are great, as is the employees who always have a smile.

Lots of noisy construction. Drills, banging, areas roped off. Food choices besides buffet very limited, reservations were difficult. Food did not appear to be fresh. Returned from beach one afternoon to no hot water. Was told it was entire complex and would be 3/4 hours. Cold shower before dinner very disappointing. A lot of staff not friendly and appeared to be bothered. Beach was very dirty and not inviting at all. Constant interruptions by sales for excursions and merchandise. Will not return .

I left my credit card in my bag while I went out for an excursion. A cleaner tried using both my credit cards in a website. At first I thought it was random then I noticed it was the only two cards I brung with me to DR. That was terrible of them to do on so many levels.

Absolutely the worst experience in Punta Cana. Bad service and everyone waiting for handouts. You MUST fight for anyone to say yes because every answer you get is NO. Catalonia Royal Bavaro Privileged Guest means NOTHING. It doesn’t mean exclusive dining or, premium drinks. It took them 6 hrs to do a room exchange due to a malodorous smell coming from the shower and I practically had to beg for a late check out which by the way is a Privilege benefit. Bad overall entertainment. This is definitely a ONE and DONE resort for me. There are much better choices in Punta Cana. And by the way, you get welcomed with an invitation to an exclusive breakfast “timeshare pitch” Very. Very limited beach area. Waste of time…..

So many picky people reviewing. "They dont speak perfect english!" yeah, you aren't in an english speaking country. For the price, I think this resort was amazing. We had a Junior "privliged" room. I thought the room looked exactly like the picture. One day the A/C was not working, and they said it was being fixed and later that afternoon it had cooled down. Our room never went below 22C which for me was ok with the fan, but I could have had it a bit cooler. I left $5 for the maid everyday with a note in spanish asking for extra water, coffee, and/or beer and it was always obliged. Room service options were limited but the food was hot. Reserve your restaurants the first day. You do have room service 24/7. We tried every restaurant and they were all fairly decent. Were they amazing? not really, but I don't think we ever had a bad meal. I found service really good. Drinks were flowing, and they do NOT water them down. They were strong. I tipped $2 a round for me and my wife and we got great service and everyone was awesome. The booze is all pretty much well booze, so nothing fanzy. , they have a limited drink menu but they have some great local drinks and only one beer, Presidente (but its good). The dirty monkey was my favorite also shots of mamajuana were amazing. Beach does have seaweed but they do rake every day. The locals at beach sell stuff but they weren't too pushy. Nice quiet resort, if hardcore party is what you want than pass. I would def go back.

Vacation for 4 days March 2024. The hotel itself is beautiful and the rooms are always clean and comfortable. The food at the restaurant is delicious and we always look forward to our meals there. We love spending our days lounging by the pool and taking in the stunning views of the ocean. Overall, our stay at this hotel was once again fantastic and we can't wait to come back again in the future. Shout out to Carlito and Jenny I believe was her name amazing bartenders.

0 customer service, staff was extremely rude and unhelpful. Food was horrendous and each time it took an hour at minimum to get our meals. Very hard to find drinking water, when we asked for safe water to drink it took 3 hours, 3 phone calls and 3 in person conversations to get a bottle of water. People are constantly trying to sell you excursions and other things even on the resort. Worst customer service I have ever experienced and there was no music playing for the majority of the stay. There was little to no entertainment (shows, live music etc.). The beach was also very small and had a lot of seaweed. Not to mention there were many people ambushing you down on the “private resort beach”. The restaurant and shopping center times were posted on the website and on the doors, but most of the time when we showed up they said they weren’t actually open. There was also construction happening while we were there and you could constantly hear hammers and other banging. Not relaxing at all. This was by far our worst “vacation” experience we have ever had. I would never go back again and would highly suggest looking for a different resort.

Wonderful resort, property and location. Friendly accommodating staff, great selection of food and drink. Gratuitous should be included in an all inclusive restore, so that cash need not always be on hand. If you didn’t tip sometimes you were made to feel uncomfortable. That should never be the case. We would definitely return but would like this to be considered.

The property was beautiful, the staff was mostly nice. My 2 biggest concerns was finding mold in our room and the welcome package people (aka Time Share people) having the authority to call our room.

Resort was a good size, not huge and easy to get around. Staff were great as was the food. Only negative aspect is that people smoke everywhere. No designated areas like in most of the civilized world. Wife has alergies and second hand smoke is one of them. Sad that you have to limit where you go and lounge around to avoid this.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! FOOD IS HORRIBLE AND SCHEDULED. YOU HAVE TO EAT ON THEIR TIME. ROOM WAS DISGUSTING AND DID NOT LOOK ANYTHING LIKE PICTURES.BUG INFESTATIONS , GARDEN MILLIPEDES EVERYWHERE AND WORST OF ALL , ALL STAFF HAVE HORRIBLE ATTITUDES AND TALK ABOUT YOU TO THEIR COWORKERS IN YOUR FACE. THEY CONSTANTLY ASK FOR TIPS IN FOREIGN CURRENCIES . MAKE SURE YOU DONT ASK THEM FOR ANYTHING. OR BETTER YET STAY ANYWHERE ELSE.
