The resort wasn’t bad for the price. Thought the food was pretty good for a resort. I would say the rooms get humid, the property can use some updating. A lot of young people. Mainly late teens and early 20s.

Overall the staff was great. Food could use more effort more variety. The rooms has certain things that did not work like the telephone or tv. The experience was great met a lot of good people.
The resort was excellent. The staff was always cleaning so the property was well kept. Guests that stayed there were pigs. They left their garbage and food all over the beach. They showed no respect. It was mostly the younger generation. Its too bad because its a nice resort. I would definitely visit the Riu Republica again. I want to thank everyone at the Riu Republica for everything they did to make our stay there enjoyable and memorable.

Riu republica is getting older and rooms not very updated. Tv wasn’t working, phone not working in room, shower drain was broke. The 1 elevator had a horrific smell. Pools were cleaned every morning. Staff was very friendly. This was our second time staying here and probably won’t stay here again.

I liked the swim-up bars, the nightly shows. What i didnt like was the service. I got there on a Thrusday, the room phone was not working, Friday I went to the front desk put the request, they never went. I called asking for bottles of water for my mini bar, they came the night before i was leaving.
Property was clean and had a good party vibe specially in the pool area with great music and entertainment. The disco was small and its really hot inside get ready to sweat. Food is average and Drinks also. A/C in rooms are not set to have the room cool at all so room is hot , although room are big comfortable sames as bathroom and shower. Its a mix of things so depends on what you want

The room was filthy, my toilet hardly worked, the fan stopped working, the safe malfunctioned. Outside of the room itself, everything else was awesome! The bar staff next to American country Rijo and David were my favorite and there was a lovely lady who worked at American country who wore a red bow who was super freaking sweet. The staff were pretty awesome! The pink party was fun but over crowded! I wouldn’t come back because of the room situation. But the rest of the resort was amazing and the jerk chicken was 10/10. If you were at the back of the property it gave a quiet vibe and getting drinks were easy at the swim up bar. At the end near the beach was where most of the fun was but it did take longer to get drinks as staff were busy but still nice.

Overall, we had a great time staying at the resort. This is a party hotel, I really enjoyed the Rio parties (neon & jungle party) to the resort pools have such a great vibe. Resort has beach access with plenty of beach chairs in the shade and sun. Food at the restaurant is decent, food in the sports bar was very basic I don’t recommend the sports bar food but if you’re hungry when it’s not restaurant hours then you have no other option. The staff was great, bartenders were so fun and friendly. Pacha nightclub was a lot of fun. The first day our towels smelled like stinky cheese, we were able to get more towels and they were fine. The bed sheets gave my friend and I a rash and we had multiple bites which looked like bed bugs. Besides the bed and towels overall definitely a party resort, come have a good time. Don’t expect a luxury room and don’t expect room service there isn’t any.
To begin, the appliances within the room were outdated. The mattress was old and contained suspected bedbugs and visible mold which led to irritating bumps appearing about the body on the skin. The A/C was not functioning therefore sleeping at night became hot and very uncomfortable. Part of the ceiling fan fell directly to the bed which is a potential hazard. Fortunately we were not lying in bed at the time of the incident. There was also on several occasions a pungent bathroom odor that consumed the section of the resort in which we were staying and inhaling it became very unpleasant.
In addition, we encountered a dead mouse at the end of the hallway which indicates the resort is dealing with a rodent infestation issue. However, the staff were very warm and pleasant. This therefore helped to make the experience better for all of us.
I’ma be honest, the experience 9 out of 10. The room itself -3000 out of 10 and I was in the military. No AC, TV had a black line down the center 3” wide, hair dryer coming off the wall, tissue and towel racks falling off, Ants in my room and suitcase, dead mice in the hall way, one outlet worked, and more. Worst part is, if you try to call the front desk, they take an hour for them to answer. Just to tell you a technician will be there that never comes.
With that being said I didn’t come to sit in my room. For what it was, a party resort that’s all inclusive, it was a cool experience. Met a lot of great people. However, the cleanliness, ‘technician’ that never showed, and some staff was horrid. I feel like they need to put a lot of time and effort into the upkeep of their rooms. 100% did not expect the room to be so bad.
I checked into this resort the day of booking. They got us to our room and it smelled like mold/mildew. I went back down to front desk and they moved us to a different room. The new room the AC was decent so we stayed went to the pool. When we went back to the room and changed to step out for food there was no food anywhere except at the bar area which was uncooked hotdogs and uncooked burgers. The only thing to cook out was just a microwave to heat up the hotdogs and burgers. We had to step out and paid an expensive taxi to try and find some food. However, when we got back we noticed the room was hot and attempted to try and get some sleep thinking the AC would kick in. I woke up at 4:30am hyperventilating dripping in sweat. I got down to the front desk and they advised me that they are not sure as to why they moved me into that unit because the AC is bad in that unit. They sent maintenance down to the room and just closed the back door for the AC to kick in. The AC started a bit but still was very hot. I had to take a cold shower to bring my temperature down because I was shaking. I advised the front desk again and they did not want to compensate me at all for anything or give me a partial refund on anything or even help with anything at all. I did not want to spend the rest of my stay in an old moldy, run down, AC broken, non food resort for the rest of my stay. I did not even stay 24 hours in this hotel, I checked out the next morning and contacted a lawyer on this matter
I recently stayed at Riu Republica expecting an adults-only, all-inclusive experience, but unfortunately this was one of the most disappointing resort stays I have ever had.
Upon arrival, the room category we had reserved was not available. We were initially assigned to a different room than the one we booked. The following day, we were moved again to another room with three beds, which was not what we expected for our stay.
The condition of the second room was unacceptable. The air conditioning unit was leaking water, leaving parts of the room flooded. The toilet was not functioning properly, and throughout the night the air conditioning stopped working completely, making it very uncomfortable to sleep. The room itself felt extremely basic, poorly decorated, and lacked the quality and attention to detail one would expect from a resort of this category.
One of the biggest disappointments was the adults-only concept. While the resort is marketed as an adults-only property, there were groups of very young guests behaving loudly throughout the property at all hours. The constant yelling, screaming, and disruptive behavior completely took away from the relaxing atmosphere that many guests expect when booking an adults-only resort.
The food was another major letdown. The buffet offerings were repetitive, lacked variety, and the overall quality was below average. Many dishes seemed bland, poorly prepared, and not at the level expected from an all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana.
The staff at Riu Republica was amazing, they were all very friendly. We enjoyed all of the food and drinks. The jerk chicken was fantastic. There were plenty of chairs by the pools. All in all we enjoyed our time at the resort.
The property in general is well kept, only minor details that I’ve noticed. Pools are very nice and clean. Staff in general are good although they need to be trained better specially in all the restaurants. They need to be more friendly and helpful. The rooms are very nice and spacious.
Great entertainment and many planned activities.
In general it is a very nice Resort for adults.
I was very disappointed with my stay at RIU Republica Punta Cana. The biggest issue was the air conditioning. I had to change rooms three different times because each room had A/C problems, and one of the rooms also had a strong unpleasant smell. After finally getting into my third room, it was still missing basic necessities like a blanket and hand towels. The rooms are outdated, in need of major renovations, and the beds were extremely stiff and uncomfortable.
The food was another huge disappointment. Most meals were either undercooked or overcooked, and the overall quality was poor for an all-inclusive resort. The only standout items during the stay were the jerk chicken on the beach and the ribeye at the steakhouse.
The drinks tasted watered down, which was surprising for a resort known for its party atmosphere. The 24-hour sports bar frequently ran out of food, and when it did, it took an incredibly long time to restock.
The staff was generally not very attentive, and getting assistance often felt like a chore rather than good customer service.
Overall, while the beach and the lively atmosphere are nice, they weren’t enough to make up for the constant room issues, unreliable air conditioning, poor food quality, weak drinks, and lackluster service. I expected much better from RIU and would not stay at this property again unless significant renovations and improvements are made.
