"This apartment was wonderful! It had many beds, all comfortable and it was equipped with everything we needed. The location is excellent with Puerto Cancun just being across the street. The apartment has a wrap around patio with spectacular views to Isla Mujeres and the harbor. The only negative I would say is that the apartment has some rules we weren't aware of. "We stayed in one of the ocean view junior suites. We loved the view from the balcony, and the water pressure in the shower was great, but the room was a bit dated, and the beds were horribly uncomfortable. We did enjoy going to the gym everyday, as well as hanging out by the pool and swimming in the beautiful water. We tried the gourmet restaurant Krystal and the Japanese restaurant Sakura; both were just okay.. We ended up at the buffet for most of our meals, and loved the little coffee place by the lobby. This resort is very clean, the staff was super friendly, and they have 3 pools - something for everyone. Personally, I don't care for the party scene but we met so many nice people and had a lot of fun wherever we went. Riu Palace runs like a well oiled machine, something I appreciate. Overall, we loved our weeklong stay here and would come back in a heartbeat!"

"The hotel structure is really good, food is amazing. The staff works really hard trying to be as efficient as they can but they are only humans. The hotel was full and clearly the staff wasn’t enough for the amount of people staying there. The hotel is gigantic and being a line makes it difficult to walk to everything, it’s a long walk even for adults. The beach is terrible, you can’t call that a beach, looks and feels more like a swamp. The kids club is nice and full of activities, as well as the activities at the pool. Scheduling everything was hard, we were in a big group so our reservations for dinner were always late night even when we scheduled it before arriving. The inflatable you had t stay in line for half an hour before opening if you wanted a spot. Our concierge, Sam made everything happen to us if it wasn’t for her we wouldn’t be able to get dinner reservations, pool cabanas and so on. Drinks were good but the service at the family pool was slow since the hotel was packed. We waited 2 hours for food one of the days. We wouldn’t come back, it felt overwhelming for us bc of the amount of people, the constant long distance walkings the long waiting at the bars. our style of family vacation is more on smaller resorts. "
