Tropical Magnolia Resort
10/10 Excellent
"This place is beautiful and well-kept. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and they did allow us to order from the menu after the first few days. We were there five nights. Our room said it had a kitchenette but there was only a coffee maker and mini fridge. Our second room did have a microwave. We had to switch rooms because on the third night we were lying in bed and saw bed bugs! We thought we had been getting bit by mosquitos but it turns out it was bed bugs! Luckily the manager took our call at 9pm and moved us to a different room. We had no trouble for the last two nights. Overall it was a great stay. The only thing that would make it better would be to offer drinking water. We had to ask to have our water bottles filled every day and ended up just buying some."

"Good clean, basic accommodation. Host was most helpful as the nearby beach had sargassum as do many beaches in Belize at this time (August 2026). She suggested an alternate beach within walking distance. hotel on boardwalk not street."

"Very nice resort on the village. Close to alot & walkable. No pool but the ocean is right there. Beds are so comfy. Staff was amazing! Will definitely be back!!"

"The property was so clean and beautiful! Staff was very helpful and kind with any questions we had. Restaurant was delicious along with the bar drinks. Our room was cleaned daily with refreshed ice, water, etc."

"Very quaint property with attentive manager. AC worked wonderfully. Property is right on the water with a very small sandy beach. Barefoot bar is literally on the other side of the fence. Bring ear plugs if music bothers you at night; they close at midnight so not too late. My sister and I stayed here on the weekends during a two week stay in Belize. We were in three different rooms (3 weekends) and liked different things about each of them. All of the rooms had AC, microwave, mini fridge, and hammock with water view. Room 8 had an amazing view of the water and plenty of table space. Room 6 had a large bed. Room 3 had some counter and cooking space. Shelly, the manager, allowed us to leave luggage behind while we stayed on an island during the week. She was very helpful and was delightfully fun to talk to. This was a great place to cool down and get some rest after a day of sightseeing."

"Captain Jak's took great care of my wife and me during our recent stay. The staff were incredibly kind, our room was tidy and comfortable, and the housekeeping staff did a great job. We were pleasantly surprised at the amenities we had available to us - we found out we had free access to bicycles during our stay, and we were able to book a private shuttle from Placencia to Belize City at the last minute for a very competitive price. The room had excellent air conditioning, and the location was great for exploring downtown Placencia and visiting the beach. We were also able to get our clothes washed for a fee, and the staff took care of everything, even folding our laundry adn returning it to our room while we were out. Our only issues during our stay were that the Wi-Fi was a bit slow and that it was unfortunate that the room did not have any pantry staples, like salt/pepper, cooking oil, sugar, etc. We weren't able to take full advantage of the kitchen without these, unfortunately."

"The place was perfect in every way. My aunt and I felt like we were at home thanks to the personal touches. We were given complimentary rum punch, breakfast on the rooftop each morning, a clean, beautiful room with a veranda. They paid for us to swim at a beach resort since we couldn’t swim in the sea. The staff warm and inviting. Great places to eat were within walking distance. This gem was a 10.!"
