We loves the room with a great view of the ocean on one side and the marinas on the othe side. We had a fully funcional kitchen. It was a great location for driving to many excursiones in the surrounding area.

I stayed for a few days and loved it there! The amenities offered are great, the staff was so helpful and friendly, the restaurant and bar was convenient if we didn’t feel like going out, and everything was kept clean throughout our stay. I would definitely stay here again!

Single night stay Puerto Azul Hotel

Hotel was ok for a night, the room and pool area were rather run down, pillows pretty flat, and the door to the balcony did not lock. Service was satisfactory for lobby and bags (note, there is no elevator to the second floor). Restaurant food and service were pretty good for dinner. I was pleasantly surprised by the free breakfast, which came with fruit, juice, good coffee, and a choice of one of four mains (the yogurt was a little odd, thin and comes with corn flakes) which were overall good.

We were in the tower which has great views and AC in the main room and bedrooms. Kitchen window was broken and wouldn't go shut all the way but only 1cm. Pool areas were beautiful and clean. Rooms were clean and spacious which was wonderful! We enjoyed the floor to ceiling windows that allowed us to take full advantage of the great view.

Our stay at Puerto Azul Hotel Y Club Nautico was good overall. They accommodated our very late check-in at 1:30 am, which was appreciated since our flight was late getting into San Jose. The breakfast was good, and we also attended a boat tour to Tortuga Island, which departed directly from the docks at the hotel, which was very convenient. It’s probably the best, safest place to stay in the area, though Puntarenas isn’t really well known for tourists. It was a convenient location for a few different excursions we wanted to do, such as Monteverde and Tortuga Island, and the hotel fulfilled all of our needs. We likely wouldn’t stay in Puntarenas again otherwise, but this has nothing do to with the hotel. It was comfortable and the staff was great.

The staff was super helpful. Much better than in USA. They went above and beyond to help me visit the nearby Tortuga Island. Breakfast options were somewhat limited but everything was delicious. Wifi worked well and we all had a great night’s sleep. Will definitely use this hotel again for any return trip to Puntarenas.

The Elevators were not working and my 80 year old mother in law and disabled sister in law had to walk up 7 flights of stairs. Beautiful view minimally furnished not even big enough couch for all of us to sit and no other chairs. Great food and service at the bar and awesome pool!

A great value hotel for a 1 night stopover before we flew home.. Good location, secure site. It's a little basic. There is no lift. Breakfast was included , was very basic. Our one day by the pool was spoilt by continuous loud music from the bar competing with another residents boom box by the pool

the staff was friendly and responsive. the breakfast was typica costa rica, which was tasty. the property is more functional than polished. our room was clean, but sparse of character or color. so, if you're looking for polished, upscale this is not the stay for you. it was fine for us and the grandkids as we spent most of our time at the beach and in puntarenas town center.

I liked that it was close to the pick up for the Tortuga Island tour. The cleanliness was missing along with the place is very rundown. Our front door did not even close evenly the top had a two finger gap. The bathroom and the rooms were very dingy and the furniture literally falling off the walls. The bathroom was very strange looking, dim light and run down. This whole place needs to be closed and renovated.

A decent place to stay if you have to be in Puntareans. Room needs better maintenance. Lots of little things wrong but usuable. The pool was quite nice. Has a good gym. Dinner at restaurant was very good. There were a lot of mosquitoes. They should work harder to control them. A lot of road noise on that side of hotel, pay more and stay on the marina side. Nothing in walking distance. Taxis were oddly expensive.
