Painter's Lodge

Painter's Lodge

8/10 Good
"Room was clean, and views from the lodge patio were excellent, but, there was no mention in the booking that there were lots of stairs involved. It was advertised as an accessable property. The stairs to the second floor of the building was okay, but the 2 flights of stairs inside was a bit much. We entered on a level that had the bathroom and sink, then it was down stairs to the sitting level, and up stairs to the bedroom. As senoirs, these stairs was a major inconvienience. The garden view was a wall of trees. If you looked through them you could see part of the water. The bathroom was seperate from the sink, so you needed to open the door to wash your hands. The other thing, was the bed was very low. Basically a matress 6 inches off the floor. Admittedly, we did book last minute, so had to take what was available. In general, it was a nice property, and maybe if we had booked earlier it may have been a better experience."

"Fantastic cabins that were much larger than we anticipated. The galley-like kitchen had everything you needed. The bathroom was massive with a double jetted tub and the AC/heating unit worked perfectly. The location and views were great. The staff were really friendly when we showed up and helpful throughout our stay. We would definitely recommend staying here if youโ€™re in the Campbell River area."

"We stayed in room 118 at the very end of the corridor. The room itself is nice but the sea view was largely blocked by an ugly storage building and the WiFi struggled to reach us. There was no lift from the reception down to the 1st floor. We had to go down a flight of stairs wheel down a ramp and across to the lift. Not the best set up though we were told by the receptionist, this does seem like a key area for improvement. The breakfast was average but at least walkable to the downtown area with food options."

High Point Resort

10/10 Excellent
"This place was excellent! Loved staying here. Everywhere was exeptionally clean and well cared for. The pool was beautifully warm and well looked after. The only slight drawback was pool hours are 10am-9pm. It would have been lovely to use the pool first thing in the morning. There's plenty of parking. The staff were all lovely. We'll definitely book here again!!"
