"We loved staying at Canon de La Vieja Lodge for our first few nights in Costa Rica. It was a short distance from the airport and close to the National Park. Lots to explore in the area. The property had many activities to enjoy. Even though the property is popular with tour groups we never felt it was crowded and always found quiet areas to enjoy by ourselves. We greatly appreciated the hot water pools down by the river as well as the main pool with it's swim up bar. Highly recommend this Lodge....

"Beautiful little property in the jungle. Clean and well equipped casitas with a delicious restaurant and a gorgeous pool. We stayed here the night before visiting Sensoria and the location and staff were perfect. My only complaint is that we didn’t stay here longer! "

"Although the room was small and simple, it was clean, comfortable, and with good A/C. No hot water but who needs it in 33 degree heat. A bit noisy from the adjacent bar, but no problem with ear plugs. Good food in the attached restaurant. The staff were fabulous - friendly and super helpful and went out of their way. "

"Nicely decorated simple cabins with a true nature feel. Host was very welcoming and helpful. Loved the little details like the viewing outpost. Out of the main tourist paths which is what I was looking for. "

"We stayed 2 nights in the amazing dome room ! It is spacious and well furnished and has everything you need ! The view is brearhtaking with beautiful sunset in the evening ! Big property that offers some acitivities (zipline, horse riding and small hike) ; you will be welcomed by the owner that will do everything to make your stay even better. Place is quite isolated, so they propose dîner and breakfast that really worth it and quite cheap for quality !"

"The team at the property were ALL excellent - thank you. The property is accessed via an unmade road which was hard work for our small hire car - but because it was a hire car it made it through. The facilities are good. I tried the canopy walk, river slide, zip line and hot springs, all of which were very good. The evening meals we had were of a high standard, especially considering that all the food has to be transported a long way. The breakfast was good ( but didn’t live up to the standard of the evening meals). We were in a hacienda and the walls are very thin. We had a great two days and would highly recommend the facility."
