"We stayed a week at a Helgafell suite in the beginning of November. The suite was in two floors with a sundeck on roof. Modern interior, 2 BR, 2 bath and one toilet. The house in located in the Allegra gated community, pools in the area (not heated). Everything worked well, friendly and helpful host. Parking in the community area and street parking available. Good internet. Grocery stores within walking distance, restaurants, pubs and other stores in the town."

"This place was fantastic. It’s right on the beach and the staff are super friendly. La Mata is a great mellow town to make your home base with great restaurants and a couple markets right down the boardwalk. It’s not super fancy, so don’t expect the four seasons, but it’s a great place to stay, highly recommend. "

"No wifi in rooms and only in reception.. bar and restaurant closed most evenings .. pool closed .. Access to wifi was a real problem for me and needing to sit in reception to do my work was very inconvenient.
Furniture in rooms very uncomfortable.. Located in a good area but this time of the year most places are closed "

"It was a basic studio and was clean. Air con was good. Pool closes for 3 hours 2-5pm. Food in restaurant is very good and reasonable priced but for all the staff they have (5) service is terrible. I had to go bar and order in end as got sick of waiting even though it wasn’t busy. When we received meal i had to get up and ask for cutlery. No entertainment on night we stayed"

"Incorrect information shared about the deposit between booking emails and then arriving to check in.
Rooms were nice and fresh but missing a lot of basics for a self catering room with cooking facilities.
Beds were like wooden boards and had no comfort whatsoever.
Noise between rooms was unbearable and had no sound protection, especially with an over noisy neighbour "

"Superb, well priced hotel. Booked with short notice and was pleased with everything. Comfortable beds and nice, clean, modern rooms. There's an area on the ground floor where you can sit with desks. The staff were kind enough to let me stay there for a short work call after checking out. The WiFi is good enough for video calling. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again."

"Sadly the pictures are very misleading. Pictures of the front of the property are CGI. It looks NOTHING like that!
Apartment lacks basics. No pool towels, onlt white hotel towels. Pool shows pictures of sun loungers and table. Yet a note in the apartment tells you no furniture is to be taken to the pool. Your only option was to lie on hard AstroTurf.
The pool was filthy with bugs, leaves and a general murky film on the water. Never saw a pool cleaner once in the week we stayed. It was not private at all and shared by all apartments. It would aqt least benefit from a solid gate, instead people passing can peer straight through.
Our 2 bed apartment was clean and nice, but it lacked a balcony space. On the balcone was a table, 4 stacked chairs and 2 stacked su ploungers. There was no way we could have had 2 sun loungers out, there simply was not enough space."

"Great hotel ideal for a stopover before a flight and free secure underground parking when we were there. Very good buffet breakfast and dinner and bar prices very reasonable. It is located in the middle of a newish large industrial estate so no other bars or restaurants around without driving. Very quiet other than planes heading to Alicante airport to land; this obviously depends on wind direction. Clean modern bedrooms with walk in shower. Swimming pool was a bonus also. Like most Spanish hotel no kettles in the room."

a good value hotel stay each time and the view to the south over the sea on an evening is splendid.

"this was our second stay at the Hotel Gran Playa
within a year, we checked in late due to flight delays
from Madrid to Alicante in the historic (el Apagon)
black out in Spain the receptionist explained about the
black out and no electricity no lights in our room tired and
hungry from the ordeal and no bars or restaurants to go to, a lovely lady getting ready to go home after her shift
I was asking where we can get something to eat offered us pizza from the kitchen i think her name is Mercy, we owe her deep gratitude for caring
