"A large historic and characterful hotel. The creaky floor boards strongly hint at its age. They offer nostalgia and comfort during the day but in the early hours even the nimblest of feet cant creep silently past your door. Staff are in the main friendly. Perhaps the receptionists could up their game and match the happy personality of the rest of this well trained team."

"We were allowed to check in before 3.00pm as we arrived early. The room was clean but very dated and the furniture was old and shabby. The room carper was threadbare in places. Shower was OK once we got it work. The whole building looked tired and in need of alot if work. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially at breakfast where they were polite, attentive and very efficient. The breakfast was very good with a range of hot and cold offerings. The parking in the hotel was ideal and its location to the centre of Harrogate is only 5 minutes walk. Generally we enjoyed the stay but will look to book other hotels next time we are in Harrogate."

"Took 20 minutes to check in, 15 minutes to check out - need better technology for sure. Breakfast was very disappointing - have breakfast over the road at Bettys opens at 9. Beware when you ask for bottled water - it’s not what you think - it’s from a tap water filter machine decanted into a washed up bottle- they don’t tell you that!"

"Lovely Stay, this time we got a room in the Annex & it was very quiet & a lovely, exceptionally clean room. Breakfast on this visit was a little disappointing. Replenishment was very slow, several people waiting fir long periods for food to come out. My breakfast was cold due to waiting eggs, bread came & was white only & frozen. Improvements & attention is needed here as clearly several guests were getting frustrated. Everything otherwise was 100% perfect. We’ll be back again"
