"A few things to note: first, the room we stayed in is typically $109 a night- they marked it up to $400 over graduation weekend. This is not a $400/night property. There is no elevator to the second floor- just a full flight of stairs and long hallways. The hallways also had a very strong odor. Additionally, the breakfast offerings were cold and minimal- cereal, yogurt, and pastries. There were no hot food and very limited protein options."

"Hampton Inn & Suites Hartford-Manchester was particularly helpful as a pet-friendly motel. We stayed overnight with our two standard poodles, who slept comfortably on the room's carpet. Close by is the excellent Market Grill for dinner, and an attractive mall. Breakfast at the Hampton Inn was very good, with surprisingly good coffee, scrambled eggs, sausage, and waffles for anyone who cared to make them. The staff was pleasant, helpful, and available. This is a very good place to spend the night."

"My experience was a mixed bag. The first night, I couldn’t sleep because people were talking outside - or in the room next door - until 4:30 a.m. The next morning, I asked to change rooms, and the staff, especially Charles, went out of their way to help. They upgraded my room at no extra charge and even moved my belongings while I was away. I was finally able to get a good night’s sleep. The next day, I noticed some mold on the breakfast food. I notified the staff, and they handled it right away, throwing out the whole batch that could have been affected. Bottom line: they are trying, and the hospitality was far beyond what I would expect from a motel. The room quality was also better than expected. That said, it is still a motel, by a main road, with thin walls, people hanging out outside, and a breakfast quality that could be improved. I like to imagine that my second night was more the norm than my first. "

"This property got good reviews so I booked it. I have no idea who had previously reviewed it! I was not impressed. The rooms are straight out of the 1970’s! A decade I love to dance to but not a decor I desire in a hotel. It had a faint aroma of the 70’s as well. (Old and stale) The beds had the hardest mattresses I have ever encountered. Like sleeping on plywood. The room/bathroom was seemingly “clean” although I question how clean it could truly be when that dated. The continental breakfast was less than impressive but there was coffee so I was pleased with that. The Scottish Inns is not a place I would recommend."
