Villas in Rapallo

"Wonderful location, a lovely view and a warm welcome. But! Let's be honest! The rooms are small, poor sound proofing and any hotel charging €100+ per night should provide a proper bed! Not a metal bed frame (almost a camp bed) with a thin low quality mattress! After the first night of an uncomfortable sleep Reception said they would put 'another mattress topper' on the bed. They use a duvet, which is not a 'mattress topper'. On top of this there are 2 paper cups as the only drinking vessels provided and the plug sockets are 3 pins, first time I have seen that in Italy. So plugging things in is challenging. Breakfast is nice enough, lovely view. They obviously want you to eat and drink in the restaurant, which is fine but occasionally a drink on the balcony would be nice and they don't even give you more flimsy paper cups each day! They disintegrated within a day from a couple of uses, cleaning teeth etc!! It's a nice location, I think some odd cost cutting decisions have been made which give it a 'Budget Ibis' feel in my opinion more than comfortable hotel. I imagine Ibis have better beds!"

"The hotel was centrally located and recently renovated. Our room had a lovely ocean view. The staff was friendly and helpful. This is the only hotel we stayed in in Italy where we could set the temperature in our room ourselves, which was much appreciated."

"Really lovely hotel, our room was on 3rd floor. Nice big bed, but the shower was poorly designed and tiny so water leaked everywhere. Be careful for hidden extras, including the parking £20. And although breakfast was nice the majority of hot food was chargeable."

"Absolutely breathtaking hilltop gem in Rapallo – we felt like we were living in a painting! We arrived in Rapallo on May 5th and stayed at Hotel L’Approdo, and it immediately exceeded every expectation. The hotel is just a 7-minute taxi ride from the Rapallo train station, but once you arrive, you feel transported to another world. Perched high on the hill, the location is simply unbeatable.The moment we opened the curtains to our balcony, we were speechless. The view is absolutely breathtaking – the entire valley of Rapallo unfolds below with the sparkling sea, yachts in the harbor, historic castles, and lush green vegetation everywhere. It looks like a living postcard or an Italian painting. Both our room and our friend’s room next door were spotless, bright, and very comfortable, with excellent beds and pillows that guaranteed great sleep. The hotel itself is remarkably clean and well-maintained, with all the little necessities you need. We loved enjoying a glass of white wine on the hotel’s terrace right in front of the building – such a relaxing welcome after traveling. Breakfast was truly outstanding – an incredible variety of fresh food and drinks that felt like it never ended. Downtown Rapallo and the waterfront are an easy, pleasant walk away, making the location perfect for exploring while still having peaceful hilltop views and quiet nights. We are extremely grateful we found Hotel L’Approdo. It’s a splendid, high-quality hotel in a dream-like setting. "
