Cosy rooms above a quaint pub in the centre of Retford. The room itself was comfy and clean with a huge bed, nice selection of mini-toiletries and refreshments, and a convenient code-based smart lock on the door. The staff were very friendly and welcoming on check-in. Check-out is self-organised and very easy. It was a little noisy until around midnight, but since I was staying above a pub on a Saturday night, that's only to be expected. There is a small shared kitchen space near the rooms upstairs which is very handy as despite the extensive (and delicious-looking) breakfast menu on the Lobster Pots website, breakfast is not available. However, there are a large selection of shops, cafes and restaurants within a few minutes' walk. The main downside was a bright green light in the ceiling of my room that shone straight in my face all night. There didn't seem to be any way to turn it off, which meant I got almost no sleep despite the bed being so comfortable. There is also nowhere to leave luggage after checkout, which was a bit inconvenient.
