"Lovely spot on the beach. Simple, no frills, but everything you need. Sometimes despite owners/personnel best efforts things don't go as they should. During our stay,, an impromptu construction project interfered with our experience. Noise and closed restaurant, plus construction dust in the pool and resting area, kept the experience from being the best.. But this is where hospitality and leadership matters.. The owner of the place, clearly upset about a situation he could do nothing about, stepped up and comped us a night. It's not about the money saved,, it's about the feeling you leave with. We felt like despite the inconvenience, it's a place we would totally would come back to, because they attempted to make it right."

"Very nice place to stay! Close to beach, very quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was very good. We had a amazing time there very safe and everyone was wonderful. We set up pick up transfer from the airport to hotel. There was some confusion on where the pick up was, they picked us up in friends and family zone… not taxi pick up area. "

"We really enjoyed staying here! It's in a great location of the town & just steps from the beach. We stayed 5 nights & absolutely could have stayed longer it was very comfortable & quiet. A few notes to answer any questions people may had (bc I had them too): There is WiFi on the property, it can be spotty depending on weather. There is a coffee machine in the communal kitchen area & coffee mugs in the room, but they do not supply coffee so bring your own! There is a water station for clean & safe drinking water, glasses are provided. There is no designated parking lot, but tons of parking on the street / along the side of the building. There is a smart TV in the tent (again can be a bit weather dependant) They supply 2 bath towels, 1 hand towel, & 2 beach towels. They do not service the rooms while you are there, but they are just a WhatsApp message away should you require anything as well ull see the odd staff member around when they are changing over the other tents. The bed is quite comfy, but if you like a good pillow I recommend travelling w your own, I was happy I brought mine as I like many pillows! The kitchen also supplies knives and a cutting board, but no plates or cutlery. There is a picnic table & 2 beach chairs out front of the property toward the beach you can use. the shower is decent, no long luxurious showers tho as the hot water will run low. They message on WhatsApp prior to checkin. Overall we loved our stay & plan to return. @iamhkmxo "

"We drove about 4 hrs from Merida and arrived just before 13:00, the plan was to eat lunch at the advertised Italian restaurant in the hotel, but it was all locked up, closed. We decided to drive over to the beach, drive because it looked like a much more than the listed 7 minute walk to the El Cuyo Playa. It took more like ten, fifteen minutes drive to get there and when we found a lot of trash, bottles plastic trash styrofoam, diapers etc. not e place where you would want to spend time.The "trash station" had no trash cans, just a mountain of trash strewn around it. The playa had a foul smell from trash and likely from a lot of rotting sargasso, seaweed on the beach and in the water.
