Do not stay here. Hotel is run down, dirty, and inaccurately portrayed online. We stayed the first of six nights and had to leave. Expedia would not refund us any money even though we had free cancellation.

We enjoyed the greenery, the many seating areas, the pool, and the room. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The staff spoke English quite well and are so helpful with my learning of Spanish.

This place is very basic, but good for the price. The staff was nice and helpful. But this is an older property and there are NO 3 prong plugs, so bring an adapter. Also, didn't like the fact that I had to pay for instant coffee.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Posada Real. We've been coming to Mexico for a few years and usually stay over in La Penita (renting a house from a friend), so it was nice to spend a week in Guayabitos. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We especially would like to note how friendly and kind the woman was who cleaned our room. So nice! The closeness to the beach was our favourite thing. Location location location! The pool was always full of kids having a blast. So many happy families!

Clean, adequate, and close to the beach
Friendly, helpful staff ready to meet our needs. Brought us a fridge upon request. Moved us to a larger, brighter room after the first two days. Nice little restaurant & bar on site. Great breakfast! Unfortunately there is no furniture at poolside, so no place to sit and dry off after you go for a dip. However, our only real complaint rests with Hotels.com because we booked the room many months ahead of time for $33 CAD per night; but when we arrived, we were charged $33 USD per night--a significant difference--and there was no way to correct the problem at the hotel.

A week in Guayabitos at Posada Real
Check in was easy and we were given a very clean, corner room 221 that overlooked the quiet lane, half a block from the ocean. The room was a decent size with 2 double beds, a dining table, 4chairs, a cold fridge, great TV, a hot shower and a delightful balcony. There was a nice dresser and closet space for even more storage. The front desk helped me many times with info re the wifi or the buses or directions around town. Anna, our cleaning woman was very thorough and respectful when we asked her not to clean on a few days. The location of Posada Real is superb with many restaurants and shops nearby. The beach is 2 minutes away if you walk very slowly. The ambience is efficient, polite, Mexican hospitality. I look forward to returning.

Convenient hotel for the budget-minded
We enjoyed our 2 weeks stay at Posada Real & will return next year. Staff is friendly & helpful. Great view from hotel. 2 minute walk to beach. Close to many restaurants.

Family friendly, good price, close to beach.
Lots of places to eat, movie theater in town, great little bookstore, cafe where you can trade your book for a new one at NO cost and no purchase needed. Toilet plugged up putting paper into it, but both times a nice young man immediately plunged it. All of the employees had a kind and friendly attitude. They only accept cash payment at the end of the stay, no credit card payment.

16 weeks at Posada Real
The location was great. The staff was friendly and helpful - if we needed something repaired, they provided it immediately, i.e, shower head. The kitchen lacked enough cutlery and both the dishes and pots & pans should be replaced. Some bowls & mugs were cracked & the non-stick finish of the pots was missing in places. It would be nice if dish towels were provided. The propane stove top was warped but still useable. The hot tub temperature was only warm and was available only for 2 hrs in the morning and another 2 hours in the evening. The staff were friendly and the management was great. The rooms were very clean. Beds were hard and one mattress should be replaced as it was flattened on one side from people sitting on it.

I was expecting basic room but this was very spartan. I only stayed one night but had originally booked for 14. Went out the next day and found a place, porto martell that was cheaper and ten times better.

Posada Real Hotel
This is a decent inexpensive place to stay while in Rincon de Guayabitos. Stayed here twice now and would stay again. Staff were great and very friendly. The restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel is very Hit n Miss in the food department. I live full time in Mexico so I'm very aware of what the food here should be like. My advise would be to avoid the hotel restaurant and go somewhere else to eat. Otherwise, this is a decent place to stay. It is not upscale by any means but it is inexpensive, clean and relatively comfortable. If you are like us we don't spend much time in our room while there anyway as we were always out and about. With the beach being less than a city block away we were always our checking things out. Our only complaint was the ridiculously slow internet with poor coverage. None of our party of six were able to get reception within our rooms. We all had to go outside of our rooms to use the net and check email etc. This forces you to use a common area on any given floor to do your emailing etc. as those areas have the only public seating on each floor. This could or could not be a bad thing depending on who your neighbours were. Even with poor food and slow internet at the hotel, I'd still recommend this hotel as a good place to stay as it is central to everything and affordable.

This hotel is definitely a hotel for the budget minded or for families looking for a clean but not so comfortable hotel. Not for us, but definitely has a market. The staff were friendly, the beds were very hard, the rooms very Spartan. The price is definitely right for those on a limited budget.

Basic room with hard beds- one so hard it hurt!, clean, but lacking in embellishments. Decent TV, internet sporadic, not much room, bathroom okay, really small balcony, A/C was nice but noisy, fan seemed too dangerous to use. If you like to sleep in, like past 6:30, you won't get the opportunity, even on Sunday!! Convenient location, pretty close to beach, decent restaurant, lots more nearby, some outdoor areas to relax.

Was booked for 3 nights not sure how I would like it. The hotel was all I needed. The bedding was changed everyday, there was bottled water in the room, I used the fridge for beverages. My room was on the end of the outdoor hallway, so it was quiet, had a balcony with sunshine in the morning, an ocean view to the side. and on the walkway to the beach a block away. convenient to groceries, restaurants and a small restaurant on the premises.

You get what you pay for
If you're getting this place for less than US$30, I guess you can't complain. But it's VERY basic and not the cleanest. The staff member who opened my room for me had to kick a dead roach out of the room with her foot. Not bad for a short, basic stay if you're alone.

Mexican style hotel
Very nice, typical Mexican style hotel with excellent location. Very close to the beach and shopping. Other small town- La Penita - close too with Thursdays Market where you can buy anything and everything. Hotel itself very clean but needs newer painting on some walls inside and outside. Small restaurant downstairs very convenient. Staff of the hotel very friendly and helpful. It was nice stay there. We would come back.

Great location on cute walkway only 300 meters to calm beautiful swimming beach. Very helpful staff, great food in the cheap restaurant 10 % discount for registered guests. Do not stay here if you like to sleep past 7am when the local kids start screaming in the pool.

We were on a three day getaway mini vacation. I booked this hotel after having read the reviews. I had no idea just how bad a hotel this could be until I saw it with my own eyes. I paid for one night but never had the courage to actually sleep there. Stayed in another hotel the entire three days.

Really nice hotel for the price you pay for. Is got all the necessary things you need to spend few days to enjoy the beach and the weather. The pool is it o.k and the hydro-massage pool it's very nice. The hotel is very close to the beach just a block away or the same distance to the main road.

Best value in town
We stayed from Feb. 24th to March 25th 2015, and have reserved two months next year. For the price, it is the best value in the town of Guayabitos. Is a family hotel so weekends can get a little noisy, but the pool is closed at 9pm. If you dont have children, then the second or third floor is better. Great employees and owner.
