"The room I had (ocean view king) was simply amazing. Sunset around 6:30 every evening viewable from my balcony. Fifty feet off the back of the resort to the clearest water you will ever find - and then another 50 ft and you are over the reef for some amazing snorkeling. The staff were more than friendly - they treated you like a long lost friend every time you need them. One of the best vacations - and stays - I've ever had."

"Overall, we had a really nice stay. My husband and I visited for four nights and that was just the right amount of time. Some of the staff members were awesome- very kind and helpful, but a large number of the staff members were very standoffish and it seemed like they hated their job. The food was good, but a lot of the leftover food was reused later in the day or the next. I’m glad they weren’t wasting it but it did get a bit boring. The cocktails needed help. In most of the cocktails you could only taste juice. We like a stiff drink, so we weren’t sure if it was just us, but on our last night we heard another guest complaining about the same thing. The beach and the cabanas were beautiful. We chose this resort because of the beautiful brach and it did not disappoint."

"From the check in to check out everything was great. The staff are frendely and welcoming!!! The place is surrounded of palms trees and right on the beach. "

"This resort is on a beautiful beach. The shuttle service from the airport was chaotic. Check in was ok. The attendant checking us in was checking in another couple at the same time. Thorough explanation about the resort. Frank was very friendly and carried our bags to an upper level villa. Our room was spacious with a comfortable bed. Plenty of towels. We had a balcony with a beautiful view. Ceiling fan on balcony would have been perfect. Food was good with variety. Temperature of food was not always good. Great barista in buffet restaurant and the young men kept dirty plates cleared and provided drinks and always with a smile. Service in San Simone were excellent. We had excellent bartenders although some were quicker than others. Stephanie was exceptional in Macou as were William and Kevin in the restaurant bar. Beach chairs were in abundance. Our room was close to the resort next door and at times, very noisy. Stephanie at the reception desk was very helpful and made our niece’s birthday reservations very special. She was good to all of us. Shuttle to airport somewhat better than from airport. Sunsets did not disappoint. Great fire show on the beach. Snorkeling at the point was good. "

"Superb property with the staff to complement it.The bungalows are perfectly situated so when you walk through and to yours, you already experience paradise. A tropical beauty. The on-site restaurant offers traditional Honduran dishes all prepared to order and so delicious! Then you walk through the blue door and to the dock ON THE WATER to watch the most beautiful sunset. We've done a lot of traveling and vacationing and this vacation was absolutely unmatched. Ditch the busy, noisy, crowded resort style stay and experience a stay at Puerta Azul instead."

"Our room did not meet our expectations at all. The bathroom was not properly cleaned, the toilet seat was loose, and the mirror was crooked. The bathroom floor also had visible cracks, and even the door was damaged. Overall, the condition of the room felt poorly maintained and disappointing."
