"Absolutely — this keeps the important specifics without feeling like a long complaint.
We had a mixed but overall relaxing stay at Media Luna. The rooms were clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the pool area was well maintained. The beach is small, but the snorkeling right off the beach was surprisingly great and one of our favorite things about the resort.
There was plenty of food, but we found it just okay and wished there were more authentic Honduran/Caribbean options. Drinks were basic and served in paper cups that quickly became soggy from condensation. The rooms could also use some simple improvements like hooks in the bathroom and better shower heads. A tree hitting our roof during windy nights was also pretty noisy.
The staff was generally nice, although some seemed a little disengaged, probably because there were hardly any guests during our stay. There isn’t much to do at the resort, and the excursions offered didn’t really interest us. We left the resort three of our six days to explore other parts of Roatán and definitely recommend finding a reliable taxi driver, since the resort only provides transportation to and from the airport.
There were also too many free-roaming cats begging around the dining area.
Overall, it’s a clean, peaceful place with good snorkeling and a nice pool if you’re looking to relax, but don’t expect a lively all-inclusive experience, lots of amenities, or exceptional food and drinks."
"Staff was very helpful, breakfast was delicious and Herbie sports bar was always a good time. We loved the different pools, they were very refreshing under the hot sun. Will definitely stay there again!!"
"Incredible. Idyllic. Perfect location and anything you want is within a very short walking distance. I went with friends and we had a 2 bdrm 2 bath suite. Worth the extra $$. Having the refrigerator was the best. We also had a huge private balcony looking out over the pool and the ocean. Hotel is right on the beach. Couldn’t be any closer to the water. There was just a sense of “calm.” The staff from the front desk to the bartenders, security, and housekeeping couldn’t have been better. Great snorkeling from the beach. Turn left from the hotel and walk about three min to the end of the beach and get in the water. Access along the beach to s many restaurant and bars. Guys on the beach and for $20 will take you out to the Blue Channel to snorkel. Water taxis to the West End are a few hundred feet from the Arca. There is a pier. You can’t miss it. ****TIPS. Whomever you use for transportation from the airport, stop at the Eldon’s grocery store when you leave the airport to pick up drinks and snacks. Also, have $1 & $5 bills for tips. We never converted our USD to lempira. Used credit cards at restaurants and cash for the water taxis, etc…***
We will be at the Arca for the next trip!!!"
"Our room was located in the Castle. Very unique and super cool. The location of the resort is perfect. There’s only 1 dining option on the resort, but you can easily walk down the beach and find other things. The staff was awesome. My main complaint is housekeeping didn’t change our sheets during our 4 night stay. I will book there again!"
