Robinson Reserve

Gorgeous vibe in this very cool and beautiful hotel. The hallways alone are worth the stay.

We stayed at 42 hotel for 6 nights while helping our daughter move into a nearby apartment. We had lots of luggage and asked several times for help with storing it while we were arranging things and loading it into a van. Every time the staff were incredibly helpful and cheerful, even though it was one of the hottest days Brooklyn has ever seen (102 F). They made the move so much easier than it could have been. Our stay was wonderful as well. The air conditioning was very effective without creating those cold currents in the room that can set off allergies. The bed was comfortable and the eames chair was great for relaxing after carrying things all day. The only thing that wasn't optimal was the cover they put on the mattress had a plastic feel, which made you hot at night. The shower was great and nice amenities. The free breakfast was great as well. We had a choice of different dishes cooked hot by the kitchen, omelettes or pancakes or eggs any way. No avocado toast, I think it wasn't avocado season. The server in the dining room was very friendly and helpful as well, and brought us plenty of coffee and ice water to stock up our bottles for the day. This hotel has lots of nice touches, like prosecco set out in the lobby every evening, and just the best staff ever.

Staff was super friendly and helpful! Room was clean and well appointed. The daily happy hour is three hours long and includes complimentary beer and wine and lite noshes. Breakfast was fantastic and had something for everyone. GREAT location. Subway is just a few steps away. This is our new favorite property in NYC.
