The property is quite dated and could use an infusion of capital. No one at the front desk after 9pm. Room was very tiny. We were admonished for making our reservation via expedia and not direct. Room was not made up and given fresh towels after the first night because we didn't find the card in the closet to hang on the door!

Beautiful property and amazing staff. They were so kind to me and my husband as we planned our wedding near by and allowed us to take some beautiful first look photos. We will absolutely be back to visit these wonderful people. Thank you again!

Property is “ tired”. Old- 150 year old inn and trying for a 1920s style that is really stretching it. What food is offered is average or below. Old mattress- just adequate room- peeked off paint BuT lovely views. Would not go back but an ok stay. The proximity to ocean the calling card!

Lovely stay here. We plan to come back. Only one suggestion would be to have some sort of breakfast even if a light continental breakfast. Lovely staff. Beautiful property.

Ocean side Inn
Lovely to sit on deck overlooking green, pool and ocean. So relaxing, stately yet unpretentious. Wonderful breakfast served daily. Bed, pillows, comforter comfortable. Shower perfect. Would love to go back. Scenery is so priceless.

The Emerson was a great place to get away from it all. With that, be aware that there is very little, if any, taxi, Uber, or Lyft access. Other than that, make sure you watch the moonrise as it is spectacular. The provided breakfast was very good and fresh.

Love the ocean setting. There is a public path to the rocks on the ocean where we sat on the rocks - stunning! Also love the French inspired music they play in the common area. We did not get to use the pool due to cool temps and rain but plan to return next summer.

The Emerson Inn is a beautiful hotel with gorgeous grounds and ocean views. Our stay came with breakfast and the banana foster French toast was amazing! I highly recommend this place for a romantic get away.

The service at Emerson Inn was fantastic. We had a very late check-in and Candice went above and beyond with assisting us. We stayed only one night but loved the grounds and expereince that we looked forward to returning.

The view is incredible. Lovely inn. The chef had quit the day we showed up so no dinner or bar snacks that eve. We were upgraded because our room was not ready so ended up with a beautiful ocean view. Small things probable related to low staff (according to owner) such as spilled plant not cleaned up, coffee spilled on the deck, not cleaned up the entire time weekend, piece of furniture covered with a sheet in the hallway. Those things are easy fixes that could elevate the overall feel. The room was spacious and clean and well appointed. Would definitely go back.

Beautiful ocean view, comfortable bed and clean room and bath. The room listed was a third floor walk up, no assistance with luggage. Limited staffing at this time and maid service for towels upon request. Bathroom clean, good water pressure but very small. The inn borders a quiet residential neighborhood for walking with footpaths leading to the ocean. Dining in the area limited at this time.

Amenities and service seemed very stingy considering the very high price. No drinking glasses. No maid service. Except for the comfortable bed, it was a motel experience at luxury hotel rates.
