"New owners were taken over, so the place was kind of rundown. The room was definitely clean. The staff was friendly, but definitely definitely almost like the Bates Motel."

"Good place near the beach, owners are constantly upgrading the premises, parking is a bit tight at times. Overall a very good place to spend a few nights."

"The motel is ok, probably fine for a summer place to be near the beach. It was fairly cold when we checked in and apparently the rooms we were put in have no heat. So we had to ask the front desk for space heaters, which they happily brought and did keep the place very warm.
It's no frills, but the bed was comfortable enough and it was close to Wally's where we were going, so it did the job for us just fine."

"I was actually quite surprised. The place was much more than I expected. The staff is fantastic. The breakfast left a little to be desired, but it was adequate as I am not a big breakfast eater. The staff and the facilities made up the entire place."
"Overall, we had a good stay. The staff was friendly, the room smelled clean, and the pool was well maintained. The location was great—just a short walk to the beach and boardwalk.
The only downside was that the floors in our room were very sandy, and my feet would get dirty quickly. I found myself rinsing them off in the shower often. Since you’re staying at the beach, that’s somewhat understandable, but I’d definitely recommend bringing a pair of slippers.
There was also quite a bit of construction/renovation going on, which made the property look a little less appealing."
"We love a good historic hotel, and the Hawthorne fit the bill. Our room was spacious & the vintage bathroom tiles were very fitting. We enjoyed visiting the bar and the cozy vibe it provided!"
"So The Cove at Rockport is one of the most unusual places I've stayed at. It is kind of like a bed and breakfast without the breakfast... which sounds weird, but it really wasn't. So we never actually saw anyone at the property our entire stay. Well we did see a cleaning lady... and some other guests. But we got an email in advance giving us the codes to get into the office are and the room. Everything was really done online. We did have some challenges getting into our room on the first floor since we had to access it through the office area. But we did get in and the room was very large and clean. The Cove is right across from the ocean and it is beautiful! It is right next to the harbor where there is plenty of shopping and good food. There is also a park right next to the property. The parking is right up the street, so you will have to walk a short distance. The town of Rockport is just lovely. It is exactly what you would imagine a small town on the northern coast to be. Time slows down and everything moves at a much slower pace. I absolutely loved the property and the town."
"My family and I stayed at The Cove at Salem for one night, and it was better than expected. The hotel has been beautifully remodeled, giving it a modern and inviting feel. Our room was clean, comfortable, and had plenty of space for our family.
The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We also appreciated the convenient location, which made it easy to explore Salem's attractions. If you're looking for a family-friendly hotel with great service and a fresh, updated look, The Cove at Salem is an excellent choice. We would definitely stay here again!"
"Pleasently surprised. This little cozy place was more then I expected. Staff was nice, view was great, room was clean. Convenient to everything, even the neighboring rooms were respectful. No late night shanagins. The coffee shop down stairs was a big plus. Great coffee, muffins, opens at 6am. Really had a great stay."
