"Went down for breakfast around 10am, and a lot of items were running out, the hot drinks machine were broken, so could only have hot water from a flask which also ran out. The flask said "coffee", so it wasn't clear that was just hot water."

"Lovely hotel, Some staff very welcoming - the bar man and the waiter at breakfast went above and beyond. The room however was very warm and we could not get the air conditioning to work - even with the window open it was unbearable. The bathroom sink was a bit limescaley for my liking in what is classed as a high quality hotel. Overall the stay was lovely"

"In general, the hotel provides good sized room. Breakfast is good with selection. But out of expectation, when we check in staff tried to charge for breakfast which is included with the room. Otherwise, it’s a good stay and good location too."

"Decor old and run down in places, dated and in need of refurbishment. Booked a double room and got the smallest room I can remember by UK standards. Double bed was pushed up against the wall so you could only get in from one side (it was really a single size room with a double bed squashed in!). Breakfast however was good. Overall, as a one night stay for a theatre visit to Bristol, the hotel met our requirements, with a good location, but did not meet our expectations. Car park is right next door, very convenient (£19 for 24 hours) but, as like many other reviews I’ve read, is terribly small with narrower than usual ramps - if you a larger than average car then park elsewhere."

"Check in staff were friendly. Room seemed dated but that’s fine for the price, however there were issues. White stains on the brown cushions, shower head couldn’t be adjusted so was firing horizontally, and it was very hot and didn’t reduce in temperature when you turned the dial down, even all the way down. Hair dryer was unable to do hot air, only very slow cold air, TV was too outdated for the apps to work. Bed was fairly comfortable for the price, but noting special and the AC did work (eventually, after saying it was set to centrally controlled.) Parking is covered in the neighbouring shopping centre car park. Didn’t try the breakfast as seemed a tad expensive (£16). Not bad for the price, but these things would prevent me from returning unfortunately."

"Everything was perfect. Location, service, room, cleanliness, breakfast. Everything was perfect!!! 10 out of 10! To be a 1000, it would only need a mini-fridge in the room. But it didn't compromise the experience at all. Sensational!"

"Good sized room (classic double) although bathroom will be too much on the cosy side for some. Friendly staff, hotel was very clean everywhere and the breakfast was good and bar area was nice. Only issue we had was the paper thin walls between rooms. We were watching tv at a reasonable volume around 10.30pm and had the room next door banging on the wall. We thought they were being a bit unreasonable but as we went to sleep, realised we could hear the person in the other adjacent room snoring as if he were in ours. Might only be a certain number of rooms like this, but we were in Room 128 if you’re reading this, hotel manager!"

"Beautiful hotel. Lovely breakfast. Restaurant staff were fabulous. Reception staff seemed a little bit hassled & were generally a tad abrupt with guests on check out. Concierge very helpful. £40 parking is quite steep bearing in mind it isn’t particularly secure. The spa is lovely, but hotel guests are limited on when they can use it without paying £70 a head extra - this wasn’t clear prior to arrival. Times are 7-9pm & 8-10am. We had a dinner reservation in town at 7.30pm & needed to leave early for commitments at home. This meant we had a very limited time to enjoy one of the draws of the hotel. Gym is open 24 hours and is well equipped. Treadmills - one was out of order & the second of three was running slowly when we tried to use it. Overall a great stay, but I would expect that for the price paid and the rating of the hotel. The niggles wouldn’t put me off staying again, but they might make me look elsewhere first. "
