"Very happy with Icon. Entrance and access were convenient and easy, location very good, with bus stops within a 2-3 minute walk, the Lido/Cassarate area only 12-15 minute walk, and downtown only a 20-minute or so walk. The building was modern, and accommodation was very nice. Murphy bed very comfy, good kitchen and a very good bathroom with a rain showerhead. Nothing but nice things to say...we really loved it! "

"This was one of the best rentals I have ever stayed in in my life- and I have travelled a lot! Often when you rent a place, upon arrival you discover that the photos were taken at a misleading angle, or that something about the place is not really as nice as it was spelled out to be. The opposite of that is the case with this place! It was spacious, comfortable, the view truly is breathtaking and it was spotlessly clean. "The stay was amazing, staff were very kind and approachable. The only thing I can say is breakfast wasn't included and with the hotel being secluded we didn't have an option to have breakfast elsewhere, and the hotel didn't have a variety to choose from. Everything else was amazing fantastic views."

"The staff at this hotel were excellent. Having two pools was a bonus as you could use the indoor pool when the outdoor pool was busy. The absence of a bar was a slight disappointment and the rooms were small even by European norms. Dated TVs meant no connectivity of maps.... but who goes on holiday to watch TV? Breakfast was very good too. The location (approx. 200m from Paradiso train station) made things very easy Tip: the number 2 bus will take you from the hotel (stop next to the supermarket) up the hill to the station, else it is a steep trek with luggage. The hotel is also alongside the funicular for Monte San Salvatore Watching the sunset from 900m+ is awesome (and you can buy a beer up there too!) And as with nearly every other hotel in the area, you get a Ticino Ticket that gives you free public transport (except for the ferries) in the Ticino region. We had such a great time we stayed an extra night. Our thanks to the staff at Hotel Admiral."

"Very large and comfortable room. Easy and helpful technology to operate features in the room. Exceptional breakfast with lots of choices. Convenient location next to the train. Was easy to take a train to the Locarno city center in under 15 minutes. Transportation is included with the Ticino pass so request it from the front desk. Recommend this property."

"The beds were very comfortable and the room was spacious. Overall it was a beautiful hotel. We were upgraded to a larger room but unfortunately the upgraded room overlooked a smoking patio. The people at check in were extremely slow and didn’t provide any information ie. WiFi codes or offering the Ticino pass or other information about the Lugano area."

"Overall a fantastic hotel. Great breakfast. Pool was amazing with a good amount of sunbeds. It got very busy on the weekend compared to the weekdays. We felt that given the heatwave when we stayed they should have given us bottled water everyday not just randomly on 2 days as they appeared to do. Also there were a lot of corporate events on during the weekdays. The pool bar is very, very expensive. There is a supermarket bearby that is about 8 min walk but they lock you out of the minibar and you have to request access - so you can’t easily chill drinks. Also they add 5% service charge for your stay and they tell you this at checkout. They do say it’s optional but you feel obliged to pay it. Along with city taxes this can add a significant amount to your bill so be aware!"
