My son and I really enjoyed our stay at The Cleveland. We were greeted with chocolate and an upgrade which made our day. Accommodation was clean and comfortable and it was great to have the pool for an end-of-day swim. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

The room had a slight odour and the thermal pool had stuff that stirred up with movement that shortened my time there. Otherwise, the bed was comfortable and the kitchen and bathroom were clean and functional.

We are glad you found the bed in your room comfortable and kitchen & bathroom were clean.Sorry about the slight odour in the room; this may have been from food from a previous guest. Mineral water always has the minerals in suspension and it is possible this is what you were seeing; alternatively, it could have been sediment that had come into the pool from the bore.Thanks for staying at the Cleveland.

For what we paid I expected way better from this motel. For almost $600 NZD per night I at least expected it to be clean. The shower, appliances and walls were filthy. Extremely disappointed. The best thing about this motel was the location for our activities while in Rotorua.

There has been a complete change of both our management and housekeeping teams since January 15 and we are slowly lifting our standards back to where they were for so many years. We have also completely renovated kitchens in 5 of our 2 bedroom apartments, regrouted bathroom tiles, polished shower glass and so on. A comfortable, roomy hotel room, that could do with some updating, and basic repairs such as a new washer for a badly dripping tap. The kitchen was roomy for a motel room too, with lots of bench space. The warm pool was great and I soaked a short while in one of the hot tubs as well. The bed was comfortable and the wi-fi worked. Walking distance to the steaming, bubbling hot pools of Kuirau Park.

Had a terrible stay here, there were meant to be rules in place and the staff didnt inforce these. People talking loudly outside to horns being tooted. Wpuld not recomend staying here unless you like a lot of noise.

As this was a long weekend and sports teams inhouse also the noise was cut off before 10pm as per our rules.i am sorry you did not come and see us as i would have moved you out the front even though you did not want to be there either.

Owners and staff were wonderful! The place was clean though there were some stains on carpet and bedding. The AC unit is in the kitchen so it didn’t cool the sleeping area as well but overall our stay here was fantastic and the pool/thermal mineral tub were very relaxing! Easy walks to a lot of food and kuirau thermal park. Would go back and recommend.

The property is older and the room I stayed in was clean but showed signs of age. Upgrades would make the place even more attractive, but it was a pleasant stay. I particularly appreciated the breakfast boxes that were left for me each day.

Very family friendly, awesome trampoline and amazing thermally heated outdoor pool - perfect for a winter getaway with the kids! A bit run down in parts and could be a bit cleaner, but would still recommend!

We came down for the Rotorua half and loved this place so much we will stay again next year!! Owners were so friendly and lovely the facilities were well kept and very quiet even though it was close to the road couldn’t hear cars. Highly recommend clean and lovely. Thank you

Wonderful Find in Rotorua
Wonderful little hotel with fabulous service. They were so helpful rebooking when our trip was delayed due to weather. The mineral bath was very warm and refreshing. I’d absolutely stay here again!

We absolutely loved our stay in the Cottage. So comfortable, charming & well appointed. Great facilities with the lovely pool, hot springs and play area for the kids. The hospitality was fantastic - would highly recommend.

warm and quiet
I stayed with my children - the location cannot be beaten with town and tourist attractions close. The units are warm and the bathrooms / kitchen modern and clean/ The beds are comfortable. We liked the fact the grounds are large so there were no problems with road noise. The pool was used by my children every day. The units are small but as a base you don't need large . We would return !

This property is perfect for kids with swings, slide and big trampolines. Plus there is also a good sized heated pool and 2 indoor hot tubs. The owners are the best, very friendly and accommodating. Also plenty of parking and the rooms are clean, tify and beds comfortable.
