Lovely hotel by the lake, it’s location is out side Rotorua for those who like walking it’s walkable to Rotorua, it’s close to the airport but hardly saw or heard any planes. It’s close to the red woods forest and Te Puia. The hotel has a swimming pool and hot pool with a spa attached. A lovely place to stay

The property manager was rude and constantly fighting with her employees. She talked loudly in her native language and was using foul language in front of guests. We had requested early check in, but were asked to wait beyond the regular check in time. I am asking for a full refund of our stay.

While not in Rotorua itself, this resort is minutes from city center and away from the sulphur smell. Lovely setting and attentive staff. Free laundry is a major plus! Easy parking and access to all rooms. The rooms are a bit dated but very clean and comfortable. Excellent T food!

Basically had 1 staff member running the whole place. Sauna didn’t work, steam room had to be turned on before use by the one guy doing all the other jobs then had to wait 20 mins for it. You can find better in the area for similar price.

Couldn’t sit out at night or in the morning for breakfast cause of little flies, but the worst was the attitude of the staff was atrocious, I would’ve gone elsewhere if I could’ve canceled. The young girl working there Saturday morning was very rude and inhospitable. Definitely wouldn’t go back .

9/10, very nice place. I only ding it a point because the rooms are a bit small and it's the only place I haven't had a microwave or at least mini kitchen. There is a mini fridge but that's it. Beautiful location right on the lake. A few minutes out of downtown on the east side of the lake but nice and secluded.

Beautiful view of the lake. Really appreciated the bug spray in our room when we arrived back late at night. Loved the warm pool and fabulous hot spas as well as the outdoor swimming pool and loved having them to ourselves. Such a great way to start the day. 🙂 as well as the picnic table next to the pool. The pot plants around the pool need updating. And also, the water in our room, the morning we checked out, was either hot or boiling! Too hot to hop under the shower. Otherwise, a beautiful stay. Thank you.

We just stayed overnight, finishing a trip at Rotorua and catching a flight early next morning. The room, beds, bathroom etc meet my expectations and I'd have no hesitation recommending this lhotel to anyone with similar needs

This place is far from a spa and resort. Its nothing like it advertises. Get told the restaurant is shut 3 days before arrival, No option to cancel. Im still waiting for the spa to contact me for an appointment. Had to drive 20 mins into rotorua for a actual spa and massage. It was so disappointing we checked out a day early.

Nice property, clean rooms, comfortable beds. Unfortunately someone was too liberal with the room spray so I had a headache by morning even after airing for an hour. Monday night the other facilities on the property were all closed. Thought we would try the spa pools but they were a bit short staffed due to illness and they didnt look too clean. Carparking is away from the building so returning to our room after dinner (Reception closed) involved getting quite wet (rain) and using a back alley. If staying on a day when the restaurant and bar were open I don't think this would have been such an issue.

Staff were very friendly and the room suited our needs. I expected something a bit nicer based on the name "Lakeside Spa Resort" and some of the photos, that being said there was nothing we needed that we didn't have. The area is amazing and has so much to offer. Location wise this is in a great spot.

We had a quiet room near to the lake. The room itself was very nice, with an excellent bed. Good TV channels and enough space to feel like we weren't just in a tiny box. The bathroom and shower area was especially nice. We didn't use the spa pools or any other services.

Staff member too distracted by his phone to acknowledge our arrival, stood there awkwardly waiting for him to look up, he did apologise though when he realized we were waiting. Disappointed that the 2 rooms we booked weren't together so it would pay to ring ahead to confirm this rather than assume like we did. Thankfully both our rooms were on the ground floor, wouldn't want to drag my luggage up one flight of stairs to the first floor rooms. The rooms itself were lovely, fully equipped with all the standard amenities. Comfy beds and heat pumps in each room. Didn't get a chance to use the hotel pools or spas but those areas could've done with a spruce up it looked tired. However, the view was beautiful because the its located right on the waterfront. The hotel is quite a distance from town, no problem if you have a car but there is the convenience of a McDonald's located on the same street. Only stayed the one night so didn't get a chance to try out their onsite restaurant, it was closed when we arrived and checked out.

Disappointed, basically a motel.
Booked this hotel as a gift to my sister, so we'd both relax, get a massage, use the spa. Upon arrival I was pretty dissapointed to have booked what is essentially a basic motel. The "spa" is composed of two tiny non-functioning saunas and two small hot tubs which are far away from the rooms and only reachable outdoors. They were not staffed for any kind of services or massages, so it was essentially the same as a basic motel far from town. It's next to the lake, and has a decent trail that you can walk for ~25 min, but it's nothing spectacular. Also, between the motel and the shore there's a dirt road that's frequented by locals as a hang-out spot in the afternoon, which often means loud music. The room condition was passable at most, there was no chair for the desk, the TVs were small and outdated. The trash cans were rusted/old. Some table surfaces were sticky/dirty. Skip.
