However, we encountered an unexpected issue. The property is spread over two levels, upon arrival, we naturally explored the space. There is plenty to see and do in the area too with walks and botanical gardens close by and not to far away from supermarkets and shops if needed. "Booked this hotel for 2 nights based on the room pictures. Then I saw the exterior picture! Arrived late afternoon, driving along a tatty driveway, into an almost empty carpark that looked more like waste ground with an abandoned car in the corner. The hotel looked derelict. What I assume might have been a swimming pool building looked filthy. Inside the foyer and reception were amazing. My room was just like in the pictures. A little bit dusty, a little bit worn. But it felt like being in some kind of surreal experience. When I went out for the evening and came back, reception was deserted. Ditto the next day. I don't know if this is in the middle of a refurbishment or what. And no wifi in the rooms. I think you could "plug in" to the internet, but no wifi on the 6th floor."
