"I would not recommend this property, especially for tourists or families. The location is extremely isolated it sits on top of a very high cliff, and once you’re in the area there are no taxis or easy transport options. If you’re travelling with children, it’s particularly inconvenient.
There are only two small supermarkets nearby, neither of which accept card payments, and there are no ATMs in the vicinity the nearest one is over 20 minutes away. While the local residents were friendly and...

"This was a truly special place to stay, thanks in large part to an exceptionally thoughtful and attentive host. From recommending local restaurants and hikes to helping me navigate my onward journey, he went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and stress-free. I did the hike he suggested to the top of the mountain, and the trailhead is just half a kilometer from the B&B, and I thoroughly enjoyed the hike to the summit. The property is very well located and walkable to the castle, museum and old bazaar.
Breakfast was a highlight, with a delicious, thoughtfully prepared meal served on my private balcony overlooking the mountains. The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. The balcony was also a lovely place to enjoy a cup of tea and take in the views.
What really stood out was the host's genuine care and attention to detail. He helped carry my luggage to the bus, spoke with the driver, and even arranged a taxi from the bus terminal in Tirana to my final destination. As someone who doesn't speak the local language, this was incredibly helpful. Even when I returned late from my hike, he was there to greet me and offer tea.
He has a wonderful ability to anticipate his guests' needs and make them feel genuinely cared for. An exceptional host who made my stay memorable. I would happily return and highly recommend this B&B."

I had a wonderful stay at Exalco and honestly don’t understand some of the negative reviews I read before coming here. After experiencing the hotel myself, I can say that the reality was completely different.
One thing I noticed in Albania is that many hotels and resorts are family-run. You can really see how much hard work goes into running a place like this every single day. During my stay, there were so many tourists arriving and leaving, yet the staff were constantly working to make sure everyone was taken care of. Of course, no hotel in the world can be absolutely perfect every second when it is busy, but what matters is how they respond—and the team here genuinely cares.
From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with a smile. The receptionist was incredibly kind and friendly. We had a lovely conversation, and I was even offered a complimentary drink, which was such a thoughtful gesture and made me feel at home.
The room was spacious, comfortable, and had a lovely balcony where I could relax. If I needed anything, the staff were always willing to help. I even noticed that whenever a guest had an issue or requested something different, the reception team did their best to solve it immediately, whether that meant cleaning again, changing rooms, or providing whatever was needed.
The swimming pool is beautiful, large, and perfect for relaxing after a day of travelling or exploring Shkodër. The location is also very convenient, especially if you’re driving through"
"The view by the pool is just one of the best in the world. Everything else is good price is a lil high for Albania but we booked last minute. Everything is great recommended"
"There were a lot of other options but this was by far above any other, inside or outside of the castle. The family that runs this offer exceptional service and quality. The breakfast was spectacular. This was an experience not just a hotel. "
