"The Scottish Inn used to be a run-down and poorly-maintained mom-and-pop motel called The Nomad. The current owners have completely overhauled and modernized the establishment. Gas stations, additional practical stores and eateries can be found by driving into Potsdam, crossing the bridge on the left and going north toward the retail strip on outer Market Street. Downtown Potsdam is very small and most of the beautiful historic storefronts are empty. This area would be a perfect spot for an arts festival looking for a location.
