"The hotel's environment and location exceeded our expectations, you can overlook the entire town from the hotel's garden. The rooms were clean, tidy, and fully equipped, decorated in a traditional Turkish style and very comfortable. The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming; in particular, manager Berkay was extremely helpful, assisting us with parking in narrow street and even upgrading us to a larger room with a better view. The hotel also provided a delicious traditional Turkish breakfast. Highly recommended."
"A compact but very comfortable room with a view to the sea. It is right by the castle wall. Everything you need is within a few minutes walk & they have a car park. Perfect."
"We had a lovely stay at Camlica! The host was amazing and helped us in a lot of instances like booking cabs, letting us leave our luggages in common spaces post checkout. The overall hospitality was so nice. Rooms were very clean, and they provided a good breakfast too.
Host had prepared her own map for guests to navigate Safranbolu and it was a nice addition in the place :)
We had a very pleasant stay and a beautiful town to explore!

"Don’t let the "pretty" exterior fool you—it’s a disaster inside! I really wanted to like this place because the building looks so charming from the street, but honestly? It was a total nightmare. Once you get past the front door, the "historic charm" completely disappears and you're left with a mess.
The Real Story
• The Hike: Just a heads-up, it’s a brutal uphill walk to get here. If you aren't looking for a serious cardio workout with your luggage, you're going to hate the trek.
• Safety Hazards: This was the scariest part. There are exposed wires all over the place. The electrical work is super sketchy and felt genuinely dangerous.
• Zero Vibes: The rooms are really run-down and have zero "aesthetic." No decor, no effort—just a depressing space that hasn't been looked after in years.
• The Bathroom: The layout is so awkward it’s almost impressive. It’s totally "biçimsiz," making it a struggle just to use the toilet or get ready.
Non-Existent Service
The management here is a joke. I had no soap or shampoo in my room, so I actually had to borrow some from another guest! When I complained to the front desk the next morning, they still didn't bother to get me any. Their excuse? "The person who handles that is on leave." Seriously?
To top it off, there was no breakfast. Why? Because the person who makes it didn't show up that day. Apparently, if one person stays home, the whole hotel stops functioning."
"The owner mr Osman did everything to make my stay an unforgettable experience. He collected me from the central bus station late at night and organised my return journey to Ankara airport I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and will certainly use it again if I go back .The hotel is perfectly located to explore the ancient village. I recommend this hotel . "
"Absolutely amazing. Lovely host and his wife. It’s an old building almost everything is wooden, I’ve had a wonderful sleep. Just a few feet away from the old streets/bazaar. From the time I arrived, to the time I left both husband and wife made me feel special and took care of everything. Oh and the lady makes delicious cookies and sauces! Only stayed less than a day but the impression is ever lasting. Beautiful place and people. Throughout my ten days in Turkey (I frequently travel to Turkey from Uk - and explore places) this was the best day/night spent. Perfect for couples, although I was solo and still felt magical.
Safranbolu itself has become one of my favorites - there is something magical about this town. "
"The hotel was lovely. One must put aside expectations of space etc. and appreciate the comfort of living in a Turkish home. Hajjar and her aunt were gracious in their welcome. "
