Independent, Saint David's Island hotels

"Outstanding family owned property with one of the best views on the island. The rooms were very impressive although they do need a refresh in some areas but overall very nice. Everyone - and I mean everyone - we met around the island and at The Reefs were polite, friendly and helpful which separates this island from all others. The restaurants at the Reefs were very good and you cannot beat the free breakfast which kept us full all day. Unfortunately we had rain throughout our vacation and the owners threw a “rainy day cocktail party” in lieu of their dinner on the beach. It was very impressive that the owner went around and met the guests which, just does not happen at larger, corporate-owned properties. We will be back to the property soon to visit and see the island in the sunshine! Great stay overall."

"Good location on bus route . Room was very nice , large & overlooking pool . ONLY complaint was floor of room & bathroom needed a good cleaning . Staff was excellent & great continental breakfast brought to room each morning!"

"Room is updated and nice but it still had a few small annoyances. For example, the sliding door had no screen so we could not leave it open and the patio furniture was cheap and old. The bathroom fan did not work so a shower left the entire room humid and wet. The lobby is niceish but the pool area, hallways and grounds are very dated. Beach looks pretty but it was unfortunately raining during our stay so I can not say for sure. Not a great place to stay in bad weather; there was nothing to do; the restaurant and bar had very limited hours."

"Everything, was nice from what I had a chance to experience since I only stayed one night. The bed was very comfortable, loved the space that I had, and having the two bathrooms was a definite plus."

"This is a great property. If you are looking for a good beach in Bermuda, this is it! Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious. The meal plan is a good value, I highly recommend. The negatives are that some areas of the property show some wear and tear (for example the hot tubs, sliding doors, rusty exterior metal items). This is understandable for an oceanfront hotel that is exposed to salt air, but some areas need some work. Second, the main areas and bathrooms are very clean but I noticed a lot of areas that needed cleaning. None of this impacted our enjoyment of the property and the great staff more than made up for it. Don’t miss the Monday evening swizzle happy hour!"

"Azura is an amazing resort! The staff is friendly and accommodating. The room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. The pools are lovely, with comfortable seating and umbrella everywhere! The food at Surf is delicious and the menu pleasing. We ate there often! But the best thing is the view of the ocean! Set high on the cliffs overlooking the South Shore, the sea and sky is panoramic! The ocean was clear and we could see the fish from above. We cannot wait to go back!"
