"Wasn't as clean as I would have expected in a Holiday inn Express I don't think it was necessarily dirty I just think it's an old building there were stains in the shower and the carpets marked the cleanest especially in the hallways The Staff was very helpful and friendly The breakfast selection was amazing I would let people know that there's really nothing open in the town after 9:00 I arrived late I wasn't able to shop for any dinner or groceries or anything"

"Outdated and smells moldy. Pool area was dirty. Hot tub had a questionable ring of orange slime. Hot tub broke down the second day. Pool has flaps separating the indoor/outdoor sections of the pool, and they were so filled with black mold, we got out and used the door instead of touching the flaps or swimming under water. Breakfast had luke warm, soggy potatoes. The waffle dispenser was slow and difficult. Staff was nice."

"The resort is ideally located. Short walk to casino, museum and restaurants. The river walk was great Had a good dinner at Tony Roma's and enjoyed the music on the terrace. Swimming pool was closed and there were small kids allowed in the hot tub. Breakfast was so-so....no muffins or rolls? Need two pancake machines...."

"The property was nice to drive into. Service was great at the front desk. I would suggest with all the humidity they have in Galena that the carpets be removed from all the rooms and replaced with plank flooring. We had to change rooms because when you walked in you could feel the humidity as soon as you walked in. We asked to change the room and we got a double bed room without carpet which made it much better. Air Conditioners need to be maintained, you could smell the mildew coming from them. We did see one roach in the bathroom coming out the baseboard. I did notify the desk clerk. Its a good stay for a short time, especially if your out all day in Galena. The rooms definitely could use dehumidifiers for the amount of humidity the rooms hold, wouldn't recommend for people with asthma. Overall a good stay. "
