"Would NOT rec - hidden charges; aggression from host; uncomfortable
We’re guests at a wedding nearby. We didn’t enjoy our stay and even left early.
Nice room, but after a price dispute on day 2, our rooms weren’t cleaned at all & towels/mats/bins weren’t changed for 4d, when we had to check out early due to poor treatment.
Breakfast was €13pp everyday - well priced for a good breakfast, but we were given bread, butter & jam.
Day 1 asked for the A/C to be turned on, we were told Alex would turn it on. We asked multiple times after that, sharing that 1 of us had a condition which made excess heat unbearable, still no A/C. We asked again & were told Alex had the remote, when we asked her, she said she had lost the remote.
As we went to settle the bill, we were asked to pay significantly more than advertised on hotels.com. When we explained the miscommunication, along with price breakdowns online, there was a huge argument between the hosts. Alex was aggressive, stormed off. Thinking we didn’t understand French was attempting to blame us, as if we wanted to cheat them. Chris was reasonable & helped to solve.
Next day, we had to leave the wedding early as we were accused of ext damage we didn’t cause, proven by a lack of tyre tracks & a lack of proximity to the area of damage, again by Alex.
Chris seemed lovely, but we decided to leave 2 days early & stay elsewhere before we flew home. Maybe Alex didn’t like us, but as 2 women we want to feel safe & we didn’t feel safe."
"Lovely traditional farmhouse in a beautiful, quiet rural setting and very dog-friendly. Sandrine is an excellent host, providing us with a delicious dinner and breakfast. Our room & bathroom were spotless and very comfortable. This was our first visit, but we will definitely be back!"
"Check in was poor. They sent message not received. Spent 1.5hr sat on pavement before finally communicating and letting ourselves in.
No ability to get any food. Had to find take away. No ac so room temp >30oC overnight. Little sleep
Breakfest rudimentary. Staff un engaging"
"What a find. If you’re looking for the authentic farmhouse experience, this is the place. The host gives you his all! Breakfast incredible overlooking the gardens. A remote respite in utter beauty."
