"The hotel looks awful from the outside, like an American run down Motel. Inside is a whole different ballgame, it’s been renovated to a high standard throughout. Room was comfy, great blackout curtains, quality bed and bedsheets. The only downside is that you have to pay for parking £8 for overnight, which I feel is ridiculous. The car park should be free if you are staying in a hotel. The pool you have to walk out of the hotel and round the corner. It’s ok if it’s not raining, but if it was, you’d get very wet on that walk to the pool. Steam room was very small, could fit 3 people in it, anymore in the steam room and you’d be touching!"

"The hotel bedroom was spotlessly clean and very comfortable with everything you need in the room for a pleasant stay. The staff we encountered all seemed very friendly and helpful. Parking is easy and the hotel is surrounded by beautiful grounds. We always choose this hotel when visiting our relatives in Colchester."
